The hotel is located directly on an access road to the Rheinsteig, so we stayed overnight here.I can understand the negative reviews regarding the unfriendliness of the owner. She seems a bit grumpy at first contact. But after a few sentences she was quite friendly and willing to talk. The room was a bit old school but clean and completely ok for one night for hikers.Dinner wasn't good. One dish was very little. One with mushrooms had a bitter note, so I decided not to eat it all.The breakfast, on the other hand, was quite generous and with fresh bread rolls. There was nothing to complain about. Conclusion: the location is very favorable for hikers, the culinary offering is mixed.

We were here for the second time! Clean and spacious room and very good mattresses. It was also very quiet! The breakfast is really varied and tastes very tasty! The location in beautiful Rhöndorf is very suitable for taking excursions from here.

We would have liked to stop in for dinner - but with such an extremely unfriendly welcome (perhaps it's a particularly special sense of humor from the lady of the house, but if so, it's definitely not recognizable as such). The possibly legitimate question on our part as to whether the kitchen was currently open (it was 3 p.m.) was answered very rudely with "Yes, what else?" 3 steps into the restaurant - she basically stood in the way - I would like to see where you can sit outside (it was great weather) - the comment was just as stroppy ("so like that, well if you have to..... ..).The fact is: there wasn't a guest anywhere, not even for a coffee - and we quickly said goodbye without stopping.Guess what - people don't really like guests here.....

Supposed owner very unpleasant and unfriendly, would put me off as a guest! I can't say much about the rooms or the house... I'd be happy to go somewhere else...

We passed the restaurant after a hike. They advertised Rhenish Sauerbraten and we immediately went to the restaurant. The landlady greeted us very friendly and praised the sauerbraten. Her husband, who is also the chef, would put 3 slices of meat on each plate, so we ordered it. We ordered a flatbread soup in advance, which tasted very good, but there were hardly any flatbreads in it. Then came the sauerbraten. A children's portion is larger. Two thin slices, barely thicker than cold cuts, on each plate. The taste was very good but we left the restaurant just as hungry as we came. It's actually a shame. You can't get new customers this way.

We arrived after a heavy rainy weather. The landlady's first sentences: "...take off your raincoat, take off your shoes. We have carpet everywhere." And in a not necessarily friendly tone. I no longer have to have carpet in a hotel. The only positive thing was the breakfast the next morning. But greeting in this tone doesn't work at all. Especially not when my wife and I are the only guests. The couple should rather retire.

We wanted to go out to eat with our visitors, unfortunately almost everything was closed on today's holiday. We were very happy to find an open restaurant that we hadn't eaten at before.Fresh mushrooms were touted; That sounded great, so we went in without further ado. From that moment on things really only went downhill. We were greeted in an unfriendly, snippy tone, we couldn't sit outside anymore (it was wonderful weather!) and we weren't going to go there anymore.Well, then we just looked for a table in the dining room. We would have been better off leaving again. We had homemade chanterelles with spaetzle and porcini mushrooms with bread dumplings. The bread dumplings were made the day before and freshly prepared. Unfortunately it was made from moldy bread, which you could see and smell. The spaetzle was oversalted, but the chanterelles were not seasoned at all. Portion size was unusually small, certainly just right for older people. At least the side salad was delicious. It's actually a shame because the food here is obviously still fresh and home-cooked. The owners are probably now simply too old for this very strenuous business.PS: there was a €5 discount for the moldy bread dumpling…

We went to eat with friends in the vineyard because we were just hungry for asparagus. Of course we read the reviews. We were well served by the owner, somehow it all fits together.|The food was very good, homely. …
