Beautiful bedrooms, large and comfortable. Quite a good breakfast. Good location, possible to sit outside under the trees. Nice library just beside the reception. If the position is good depends on why are you in Hamburg

very conveniently situated once you travel by train, only 10‘ walk from and to central station, 9m2 single rooms can be recommended, you do not need more space, good quality beds and super clean. Friendly staff and inviting breakfast buffet that is well worth the extra price of 21€.

Make 100% sure that you book a room that is facing the internal courtyard, if you decide to stay at his hotel. We were given a street facing room, and were unable to sleep during both nights due to the street noise all night. (Loud yelling until 4 am both nights by party goers right in front of the hotel, cars honking etc. From 6 am loud trash disposal, banging on trash cans, right in front of our window). Maybe this would be a smaller issue during winter, but in the summer, you have to keep the windows open all night, as the room is VERY small and has zero ventilation. Even with windows open it was 30 degrees in the room. We were so exhausted after the 2nd sleepless night, we could hardly wait to check-out. Had I known that we will be put in ground floor, street facing room - I would have never booked this hotel. On the positive side: The location is great. 10 minutes walk from the Central Train station, 5 minutes walk to the river walk, just a street away from an area with dozens of nice restaurants. Also the small internal courtyard is really nice spot to have a coffee or drink on the afternoon.

We stayed here for a week during our trip to Hamburg. The location is great, train and bus super close. The staff is very friendly, helpful and a very sweet team. We enjoyed the breakfast and lunch, a wonderful experience. The cleaning staff was incredible, we always had fresh towels everyday and the bed was perfect. The only thing is the room is a bit dark with no overhead lights, made it a bit difficult to see during the winter month. But everything else was superb and definitely recommend this hotel for your visit.

I got the blue house (budget option) on the top floor and there was no lift. The room was basic and relatively clean. Not good for guests with big luggage like me. Thankfully the hotel staff were willing to help. Breakfast was lovely; better than most mid-range hotels in Europe that I've visited.

I have made this place my second home away from home every time I go to Hamburg. The location close to the main train station but in a quiet residential road is great. …

This hotel was perfect. The location is excellent, situated a 10 minute walk to the main train station, 5 minutes to Lake Alster, minutes from bus transportation and many terrific restaurants. Clean and comfortable with a lovely private garden that is well tended. Cannot say enough nice things about the staff, especially Simon and Adrian, who were so warm and welcoming, helpful and informative and, well, just charming in so many ways. If I ever get back to Hamburg, this will be my only choice for a place to stay.........

Our experience here was less than ideal. We did not get a room in the main hotel, but were placed down the street, which is a lot less nice. We paid for a "Double Room Superior Garden View" - in this case, the "garden" was a small courtyard filled with rocks. And an old, discarded rag, which was there for the entire stay. The room was otherwise pretty nice, but in the description the sleeping arrangement is described as: "Beds: 1.60 or 1.80"This is not true. It was two single beds next to each other, and in no way connected. They would slide appart constantly, it was extremely frustrating.I have never stayed in a hotel, where you could hear so much noise from other parts of the hotel. We could hear other people talking and "doing the deed", and in the morning, we would wake up to the sound of vacuum cleaning. Again, super frustrating. The breakfast was mediocre at best. Bread, youghurt, and scrambled eggs with tomatoes. A little bacon would've been nice, I usually hope for something more than what we eat at home every day.The people we interacted with were very nice, service at breakfast was good. All in all, I can in no way recommend this hotel. It was, to put it simply, not enjoyable at all.
