The hotel itself seemed to be nice enough. The rooms were on the small side, but so are many other city locations like this. The signage to the rooms is very misleading. It actually pointed us the longest route to our room, which is bizarre!The biggest issue was the noise. This hotel is positioned right on a very busy intersection, and the noise level lasts late into the night, then rises again very early in the morning.The car park is very small and incredibly difficult to maneuver, even with a very normal sized vehicle. And they charged us an extortionate fee for the privilege! There was no signage explaining the charges for this - in fact we were only told when we checked out and asked about whether we needed a parking ticket to leave the car park... which we actually didn't as they open the gate and barrier together so we could have just driven straight out.

Comfortable, clean, modern rooms. Windows are not fully noise-tight but good enough. In my room I could the water pump go on whenever somebody used the water in the building, and it bothered a bit.Good location with S-/U-Bahn connection a couple of minutes away as well as shopping facilities. Friendly staff.

Hello friendsUnfortunately, what you are about to write is very sad and disappointing. When it was time for me to check out, housekeep opened my door without my permission and entered my room. Although I did not damage anything in the room, he said that I had dirty the room. This made me very uncomfortable. He said loudly to me that it was time to check out.I asked him for fifteen minutes to half an hour to leave the room.Then they told me that I had to pay 150 euros extra or they would call the police, and then 3 police officers came to my room.I had to make the payment they wanted.When I went down to the reception and was leaving the hotel, I told them that I wanted to sit in the garden in front of the hotel and wait for my friends.They rudely told me that I couldn't sit in the garden and wait.Then I started waiting for my friends on the sidewalk in front of the hotel.Half an hour later, the receptionist came and told me that I had to leave the area where I was waiting on the sidewalk and that if I did not leave, he would call the police again, so I told him to call.The police came again and told me to leave the sidewalk in front of the hotel and move to the side.I really can't believe what happenedI encountered very terrible behavior.I hope this situation is not related to my ethnicity.That's why I definitely do not recommend you to stay in this hotel.I will share the negativities I have experienced on all my social media channels. I want them to apologize for their rude behavior and I want them to refund, i suffered..

My experience at Hotel Ibis Hamburg Alsterring was less than stellar. The price seemed steep for what was offered – rooms lacked sufficient light, felt small and somewhat dreary with train-like toilets and thin walls. The only star earned is for the friendly staff, especially a receptionist who had to rely on our maintenance helper.Security, particularly in the garage, didn't meet expectations for the daily fee. Rooms were stuffy, and the non-functional air conditioning went unaddressed by the staff, who suggested opening windows near a busy road.While the staff was exceptionally friendly and the rooms were well-furnished, the lack of modern amenities was evident. There were no plugs near the bed, only 2 sockets in the room and 1 in the bathroom. The internet speed was reminiscent of the 1990s, making video conferences impossible with a mere 800 KB/s of bandwidth. Breakfast was passable, but the absence of an electric kettle and fruit salad during the week made healthy eating challenging.A notable downside was the cleaning person entering without knocking on the door. In summary, my stay fell short of expectations, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel, especially for the price.

Really nice staff, great breakfast. We booked a room for 3 people but only had 1 double bed to share. The bed was rock-hard and there was barely room for all the guests at the breakfast buffet. Definitely room for improvement 😊
