We stayed at this hotel during our cycling trip along the river Main. Prices were very reasonable, so we were surprised to be guided into a huge room, more like a suite really, which was about twice the size of other rooms we stayed in …

I visited Lohr because it was the town my grandmother came from and lived in until she came to the US in the early 1900's. This hotel was within steps of the church she was baptized in and attended. …

I didn't stay at the hotel, so I can't comment on it. But we did eat lunch there, and were served two schnitzels swimming in oil/grease. I also ordered their "handmade cheese spätzle": it arrived with no cheese that I could detect, with several pieces burned on the top, and—again—rather greasy. Our waitress, however, was pleasant.

Wow! What a nice place to stay. It's 420 years old but it's totally up to date. Very clean and very cosy. If you want to go here on your vacation you will feel very good. I love this place and I will go back again and again.

July 10. 2012: Sat outside on the restaurant, having a "Putensteak curry" (12.90€). Very good. Nice place!

Historically very well preserved hotel with original rooms. In a central location in the middle of the old town, close to restaurants and yet very quiet. The suite was very nicely decorated. The quality of sleep was only moderate due to the not very comfortable mattress, the slatted frame and a wooden board underneath. Breakfast would be prepared individually and supplemented by a buffet. The staff was consistently friendly.

For the comfort that was offered here (or better, not offered), this hotel was far too expensive! It was the most expensive, but unfortunately also the worst overnight stay for four consecutive days in the region! It is centrally located in the old town of Lohr. The train station can be reached on foot in 15-20 minutes. Buses also run, but not before 9 a.m. on Sundays.WiFi and breakfast included in the price. Breakfast wasn't bad, although it lacked much of what was offered elsewhere at a cheaper price. In the photo there is a beautiful, old half-timbered house - when you look up close, you notice that, in contrast to the surrounding area, it has probably not been particularly well maintained. An attribute on a booking platform says “restaurant”. According to the owner, this means that there are "a dozen restaurants" in the old town, so the Krone cannot be described as a "hotel WITH a restaurant".The room was very spartan with creaking wooden floorboards, only one seat and a tiny table. With the exception of the flat screen television, everything was probably several decades old. The room could hardly be darkened. There was WiFi, but to connect you had to type in the long 20-digit network key (as assigned by the router) - not nearly as user-friendly as I know it from many (all?) other hotels.

One of the oldest hotels on the site. The hotel has real charm. The rooms are very small, but well-kept and cozy, furnished in an old style, almost kitschy. At least I don't need more. Very well maintained. …
