We had a wonderful experience at this guesthouse. Herr Kohlmann was very kind and accommodating in helping me plan a surprise 50th birthday for my husband. He even presented us with a gift of wine upon departure. Always with a twinkle in his eye, he was the perfect German host. The guesthouse itself has a very bicycle-friendly locked garage and right on the Main river bike path. The rooms are clean, the price value ratio is spot-on, and the place is in a good location. Directly across the street and 1 km uphill is the Berg Karlsberg, a perfect place for a picnic and a bottle of Mr. Kohlmann‘s delicious wine.

We attended a wine tasting in the wine bar and had a snack. The owner is also the winemaker, who talked very entertainingly about his work and the production of his wines. Of course you could try these too. The snack was very hearty and consisted of several slices of cold meat, cheese, tomatoes and pickles. Bread and butter were also served. You could also visit his wine cellar opposite. Highly recommended for wine lovers. The toilets in the basement are clean and tidy.

Perfect for a weekend in beautiful Karlstadt, relatively quiet and yet a quick walk to the old town, right on the bike path on the Main. Very nice hostess, good breakfast, good value for money - what more could you want?

Unfortunately, I only had one night here and had a good, clean and, above all, quiet room. The room wasn't high-class, but it was completely ok for the price. The shower works really well and the breakfast was great. The boss was very accommodating... we will definitely come back!!

Located on the Main cycle path, but rooms are very (!) noisy compared to the neighboring rooms and also directly on the street. Hosts very friendly. Bathroom extremely small and dark.

A very pleasant stay in the Schwalbennest wine bar. Nice clean rooms, good beds, rich breakfast. These, so to speak, “obvious things” are topped by the hosts: their friendly service even includes a taxi ride.Thank you, dear Kohlmanns.

Located less than 50m from the beautiful Main cycle path, bicycles are parked in the garage 👍.Rooms are huge and have an extra seating area, and the breakfast room is very attractive and beautifully designed.Breakfast buffet at its finest, nothing was missing. Nice people, anyway.We can only recommend this.Full marks from us

Very attentive host, all wishes were made possible at breakfast. Rooms were large and clean, beds very comfortable. There are also enough parking spaces available.
