Seems like a family business, a bit hectic when we were there, so staff seemed to be run off their feet. The evening meal was probably one of the worst cordon bleu that I have ever experienced, ex army cook perhaps? Otherwise clean, centrally located and safe bicycle parking. The outside eating area had some of the best petunias decorations that I have seen, the downside was the cigarette smoke. Good breakfast.

Room No.2 urgently needs renovation. The bathroom door looked like it had been broken in?!? The worn carpet needs to be removed, the room smelled of years-old nicotine as soon as you closed the windows. On the credit side there is a good dinner, a generous breakfast and a down-to-earth and friendly hostess. That's why we give it a good 3 star rating.

I spontaneously arrived at the inn on August 28th, 2024 without a reservation and was lucky there was 1 single room still available. Very nice and friendly welcome. Special praise for the kitchen. Schäufele had ordered me in the evening and it was extremely tasty

As a motorcyclist with four people, we booked two double rooms six months ago, with the promise that we would be able to eat and drink in the hotel so that we didn't have to leave anymore. When we arrived two weeks ago, oh god, the hotel was closed because of the holiday. The entrance was open and the room keys were in the entrance, but no other information. Luckily the city center wasn't far and we found an open restaurant. As we were now self-caterers, we got drinks and had them on the advertised terrace. You also have to say, on the door it said “on Sunday. And open on public holidays “but not here.” The operators came around 10 p.m. and we wanted to have a clarifying conversation, which led to it almost escalating. The operator has to take time off from time to time, they don't have any staff and in general... catastrophic, it doesn't work at all. This is not how you treat your guests. We then spent the two nights we had booked there with breakfast (which was ok) and then we left. When we were paying, the next big thing came: “Pay only in cash” what times do we live in? If this is the case, please indicate it on the website. Hopefully this was an exception for us otherwise the hotel industry will soon be over.

We can highly recommend this restaurant. The schnitzel variations in particular are very tasty, very good quality and ok in terms of price. The service was friendly and accommodating. The beer from Weiher (district of Bamberg) is tasty and the brewery has already won several gold medals. Unfortunately there is only wheat beer and pilsner from the barrel and not the good cellar beer.
