Just back from a 3 night stay here. This hotel has the feel of a hunting lodge. Very clean and comfortable with good sized rooms but basic. Food was very good, tasty and well cooked. I'm looking forward to my next visit. Word of warning, hotel doesn't take credit/debit cards so take cash or bank transfer (but no Internet!).

Wonderful place, very friendly owner who can also cook really well... Everything was very clean and tidy. Uncomplicated. Untouched nature. The “Prince’s Room” will be booked on the next visit. And best regards to dear sister, who served the table so warmly. Thanks for that.

Stopped here for dinner with friends after a hike. Just for dinner, no overnight stay. The food was impeccable and the service was top. Were well looked after and everyone was fed. The surroundings in the Spessart naturally speak for themselves and even if you come from the area, you will enjoy coming here. Or maybe because of that. Definitely recommended as a destination for hikers.

Simply a beautiful, wonderful place with a great, very friendly owner, who was also our top cook. This is a place for people looking for peace and quiet. Cell phone reception is non-existent here. We had lunch here on Monday (June 24th, 2024) after prior arrangement on our company outing to Hafenlohrtal with 7 people. The lunch we ordered was absolutely perfect... a festively set table on the terrace, pre-heated plates, everything in bowls and on platters, like at a family celebration... and the manager of the house as the waitress. We would love to come back here.Booking in advance is very important in this remote location.

A very quiet guesthouse with extremely nice hosts! The inn is definitely not for everyone. If you're looking for something modern with WiFi and TV, you've come to the wrong place. But, it is very cozy, very quiet and a dream for outdoor children. The food in the restaurant is always excellent. Not a 5 page menu, but really tasty. Please keep it up!

I was born in the Spessart and also love the old houses......that are still open!Unfortunately the "gbotene" here is disastrous and I went here with great anticipation.....Unfriendly, overpriced...etc.Nothing fit in the front and back!!!With all due respect to this beautiful retreat.A pity

Hello, the three of us went to dinner in Lichtenau today. It was great 👍From the nice welcome, to the friendly, quick, attentive service and all the way to the food.Soup of the day, roast wild boar with salad and dumplings, sirloin of beef with bread dumplings and salad and vanilla ice cream with raspberry sauce and cream.Soup of the day and main course were served hot. Meat and dumplings, top quality, the sauce rounded it off nicely.Don't forget the salad with the dressing, also delicious. It's not for everyone to linger in a guest room where deer and deer antlers, as well as taxidermied birds of prey adorn the walls, we think that's part of the Spessart, like the Geiersberg, the highest mountain (elevation) in the Spessart.Which you can easily reach from there. A nice workout up to the Kreuz summit. The guest room was simply and tastefully decorated. The old wooden floor, which tells its story if you listen carefully, is indispensable. The toilets, someone used their good taste here and didn't forget the "Spessart oak".All the best to the Hochspessart team.See you.Hello dear Hochspessart team,It was great again today!!!From the 2 nice ladies in service to the kitchen team! (Roast wild boar with dumplings and pork schnitzel with fried potatoes, each with salad)Simple taste, great. Before I forget, the streusel cake is also very good.See you next time!!!Best regardsW.F.March 31, 202408/02/2024Still a top address for rump steak with roasted onions and fried potatoes, pork schnitzel fried in the pan with fried potatoes, and the trout. The salads are also very tasty and beautifully garnished.Big compliments to Ursula, Caroline and the team!

Food expensive... very little food... Schnitzel a bit tough... so-called fried potatoes, about 5 small ones for two people... No sauce... and for 15 euros... it always will worse....

Very nice quiet place to relax. Ideal starting point for hiking and cycling tours. Our double room was big enough, nice high rooms, the bathroom has everything you need, but is very compact.Breakfast is served at the table and offers everything you need. Replenishments are available upon request without any problems. The much praised trout is really very good, the rump steak wasn't entirely convincing in terms of size and taste (too salty). The snacks we chose (fried egg and ham, wild boar ham platter) were again very good. The service is very courteous and friendly. In short: I would book again

Beautiful old country inn with a historic history in the Hafenlohrtal. Good, down-to-earth cuisine. The Trout Müllerin is highly recommended. Nice, attentive staff and a great environment. You should make a reservation!
