Our recent stay at Hotel zum Halbmond was a disappointment from the moment we walked through the door. Despite confirming twice that dogs were welcome both through emails and as advertised on their website we were met with immediate hostility upon arrival. The staff member’s first words were, “I can’t have this dog here,” followed by a lengthy lecture on all the potential problems our dog might cause. It was clear that our dog was not as welcome as we had been led to believe.When we suggested canceling our stay and receiving a refund, the staff member hesitated, clearly more concerned about losing our payment than providing good service. Reluctantly, he showed us to our room, continuing to complain and reiterate his earlier concerns. His attitude was anything but welcoming, and it was clear that hospitality was not his strong suit.To make matters worse, the hotel itself was far from what we expected. The entrance area looked like a construction site, messy and uninviting nothing like the images shown on their website. We quickly decided that this was not a place we wanted to spend even one night.Thankfully, Hotel.com website was quick to assist us in securing a refund, and we left without further issue. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Hotel zum Halbmond to anyone, especially those traveling with pets.Our advice to the hotel: improve your communication, learn what hospitality really means, and perhaps clean up the place a bit while you’re at it.

Avoid at any cost!I hope this message this not get flagged as fake because it is not!The owner admited in his response that this happened!The owner sold our confirmed room, on the day of arrival, shortly before check in.Eleftherios Zacharioudakis, the owner, has 0 respect for his guests.He simply sold our confirmed room to someone else stating that he "did not saw that the reservation was there".Taking into consideration that our room was booked through Expedia and guaranteed via Creditcard and he simply sold it to someone else, without even bothering to offer an alternative denotes that this hotel has no respect for its guests.The owner simply stated that he's not concerned if he gets a bad review in this case.1 star is actually to much for that kind of an attitude. Shamefull to say the least.

I'm giving it a 5, the place really surprised me, it looks like an inconspicuous house from the street, but there's a big surprise inside. I recommend rooms with a balcony, a beautiful view that will remain in your memory for a long time. Nice, clean rooms, friendly service, delicious breakfast, à la carte. The hotel is quiet, practically no traffic. Minor minus: very few parking spaces. There was a coffee machine and an electric kettle, but no tea or coffee... why??? I recommend leaving a bottle of water for the guests... I will come back and check it out! ;)

A wonderful room with a great terrace. Nice staff, breakfast is served according to individual orders. The way to the old town is easily manageable for people who are not bad on foot. But you have peace and quiet and a wonderful view.If gastronomy is offered on the very beautiful large terrace, which is probably planned, it will be really perfect.

The rooms are really nice and also very well maintained. Cleaning/tidying took place every day. The location is spectacular and you have a great view of the Elbe and the surrounding area! The only thing missing is a restaurant. Keep your fingers crossed that it will work soon!

For those who love the view: from the terrace in front of the room the view extends over the Elbe valley into the distance. The southernmost balcony of S.-H. true. The rooms have been tastefully and modernly furnished. The beds are wonderful. In the morning, your choice of breakfast is prepared by friendly service. I felt comfortable and will come back.

Check-in was really on time, no one was there beforehand.Rooms are renovated and clean, balcony with a beautiful view included. Breakfast was ready as booked and delicious.Quiet location and some free parking spaces available.I'd love to come back.

Room 202 was large, clean and very nicely decorated. Large balcony with a view of the Elbe valley. The breakfast is more than okay for the price.We thank the owner, Mr. Zacharioudakis, who took care of everything.
