This has to be the worst checkin experience I have ever had. The neglect and disregard for travellers/ guests reached an absolut new level at this place.Eventhough I arrived before the reception closes at 10pm, nobody was there. Instead there were checkin forms on the counter to fil in with the room number nicely written on it but no key. Staff from the bar was nice and tried to help but had no idea where the keys were kept. After 40 mins of literally turning the reception upside down, someone said that there was a phone number printed on the outside door to call after 10 pm.This was the missing information. Finally got my key. When checking out the guy was on the phone and asked me to pay extra tourist charge. Not acknowledging or even asking how the stay was.Absolutely disgusting!!!!DO BETTER WITH YOUR GUESTS

Myself and my wife stayed at this quirky little hotel on a recent visit to see our daughter. The location is excellent very close to the centre of Bonn, trams and buses go past it and it is only 5 mins walk from Bonn Hauptbanhof. The amenities are fairly basic and the (always friendly and helpful)staff say they are renovating the hotel but hopefully it will still retain it's character as a lot of thought has obviously gone in to the interior design. Our double room was clean and comfortable, had good storage and a fridge too.We didn't have breakfast (which I felt was maybe a little pricey) but other than that the hotel was very good value. Bonn itself obviously isn't a Berlin or a Munich but is a likeable little City with a lot of character and if I were to visit again I would happily stay at The Domicil

Regrettably, my recent stay at the hotel fell far below expectations. Despite reaching out privately to the hotel with my concerns, I have received no response, prompting me to share my experience here. …

As a carpenter and interior design enthusiast, I think Hotel Domicil is a boutique marvel, well maintained although having established decades ago, carefully-selected furnishings, from light fixtures to faucets, everything is consistently themed. Facilities features a breakfast area, spacious glass terraces, vintage elevator, and also a piano lounge. Rooms can be a little small, but they did a wonderful job to make it less claustrophobic playing with the colors and positioning of mirrors. Really enjoyed the welcome drinks and snacks, the free bike rental was additionally fun, all hotels should provide this service. Overall a great value, location was easy to find, staff were warm and inviting.

Perfect, quiet, clean and friendly environment. in the center of town. Shopping centers, restaurants, metro stations are very close. The people who work are amazing. They help you in everything. They see you as a friend. The staff working in the hotel is like one big family, if you stay in this hotel, you also become a part of a big family.

We stayed between the 5 of Sep. to of 10 Sep 2023 – 5 adults. 3 double rooms. The positive: The hotel has a good location, walking distance to the train station and the centre. Stop for public transport, bus and tram, within a few hundred metres.Very friendly staff in the hotel. I think all employees are foreigners. The negative: On arrival we were allocated rooms on both the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors. The lift was not working, and had not been working for a few days before our arrival. During the entire stay, the lift did not work! All guests had to carry their suitcases up and down the stairs. The elderly guests had problems going up and down the stairs every day. My 77-year-old mother-in-law was assigned a room on the 1st floor, where the bed was located on a loft. She could neither get up nor down the ladder that led up to the bed. Totally useless for a elderly person. We had to exchange our room with her, so she got a normal room on the 2nd floor instead. The first days were spent in airing out the room, as the previous guests had smoked a lot in the room, and everything smelled like an old, full ashtray. Due to the smell, we had difficulty staying in the room and sleeping at night.Up under the ceiling, where the double bed was located, it was unbearably hot all nights, and we had to have a fan running constantly, even though it made noise when we had to sleep. The cleaning of the rooms was very poor. Lots of cobwebs under the ceiling and very disgusting and dirty carpets in all the rooms and in the corridors. The carpets should have been replaced many years ago. Several lamps and electrical outlets did not work. Our television did not work during the entire stay. We complained several times - but nothing happened. In return, the staff brought a plate of various chocolates, fruit and peanuts as a bit of compensation for the broken television. The bathtubs were raised to a height of 65 centimeters for some reason. Almost impossible to get in and out, especially for elderly or short people. A normal bathtub has a height of approx. 45 cm. The breakfast was ok, everything you need. But during the entire stay we were served butter whose expiry date ended 1 month ago, on 09/08/2023. The staff were kind enough to help us order a taxi to the airport. Was told a price of 55 euros. But at the end we were charged 65 euros when we arrived at the airport by taxi.Google will obviously not bring the post with the photos I have taken as proof of the above - I'm sorry !

Okie, the good stuff first. And the reason why I still gave a star to this. ||The hotel is just a minute from the station and is just 5 minutes away from the bustling city. …

I liked it very much. Everything at a very high level. The loveliest ever staff. The location is the best you can imagine. If you decide to come to Bonn, I definitely recommend this hotel, because you can have a very good time very cheaply and meet very kind staff members.

Avoid this hotel. Both me and my colleagues had the same bad experience with the shower where the water will suddenly change to scolding hot (there’s no thermostat - it’s just bath taps) - I was burned. The desk staff said “It wasn’t his problem” when a colleague and I approached him. There’s no air conditioning - instead I had a noisy rattling desk fan. At breakfast, there was no milk and I had to sit and wait for 10 minutes for some to be fetched. The breakfast is very poor quality. The only redeeming feature of the hotel is that it is quite close to the railway station (5 minutes walk) so you can leave quickly.
