You want to organize something out of the ordinary for your beloved one? This is the place! I spent a night in this unique establishment with my youngest daughter, enjoying the company of the owner couple, telling us the history of this previous countryside manor and how it ended in bankruptcy of the first owner and builder. So compared to the original, the gardens have shrunk considerably, being faced with the wall of a factory building, cleverly turned into a virtual garden by a "trompe l'oeil" photography, a method also used to enlarge the little saloon in our suite on the first floor. Although the decoration is not entirely to my republican taste, it appears as if the present owners have spent considerable time to collect just the right stuff to make the place completely out of date in a good sense. Even a long shoe horn was not missing. And the owners’ little black and white dog may even collect the daily newspaper for you...Reading the reviews on Google Maps, some previous guests complain of the quality of the breakfast. Obviously, they don't understand what goes into making such a complex and beautiful presentation for the limited number of guests the place can accommodate. The scrambled eggs were divine, a difficult result to obtain for a hotel breakfast buffet. And some reviewers obviously struggle with the economic realities of being a private hotel owner. Overall, excellent value for money. We will certainly return when one of our future road trip takes us to the Lübeck area.

First of all I want to emphasize - all the imperfections of my personal experience at this hotel are objective circumstances that cannot be changed primarily because the building itself is a historical monument. You just have to be aware of this (read their web site - they explain a lot there) and decide for yourself, if you are prepared to live with some inconveniences but in a real palace. For a real palace it is. The owners have done a lot to try and preserve the appearance of the place. However, two big unavoidable problems are: no elevators (well high stairs), no climate control in the rooms. They do have radiators for the cold weather, but when it's hot - no air conditioning may be hard. All other regular facilities, like a mini bar (paid extra), a document safe, a microwave, a water cooker etc were present, at least in our room. The overall experience was quite pleasant. The people were very nice, the breakfast was simple, but good.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at Lübecker Krönchen for 1 night. We stayed in the room Heaven on Earth. The couple running the B&B are lovely hosts, that took a lot of care of the building and you see and feel that. The room itself was amazing, it was an experience on its own. The breakfast was well organized and was delicious. The castle is in the middle of an industry terrain, this you should keep in mind. For us this didn’t matter, in our room it was nice and peaceful, there where no noises from outside. The beautiful castle and lovely owners make your stay worthwhile.

Small, exclusive and atmospheric palace unfortunately hidden in an ugly industrial area that took over the palace gardens. …
