The hotel is big, the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Hotel staff is very friendly. It is located by the beach, but relatively far away from the Binz town center.||The pools are nice. …

This hotel is very comfortable and calm. It is practically directly at the sea and in the heart of a wonderful part of the peninsula. You are nearby the promenade but still, you can enjoy the calmer part of the city of Binz. Rooms are spacious and furnished in a modern way, however, some things are missing (especially if you stay longer than a week - for example, wall clocks or some kitchen items). The big advantage of this hotel is its own spa, which is perfect also for families with children. Usually was possible to use the club for children, where they create small items or make interesting trips. This time was it disappointing, that this club did not work due to illness. It is better to ask before you come, where you can park your car (there are three possibilities, not everyone is directly at the hotel) and also how it works with your towels and room cleaning. We were not sure if we can ask for it. In the vicinity of the hotel are three playgrounds, which makes your holiday choice a perfect one. It would be also nice if this hotel should have its own "Strandkorben" like the other ones. Nevertheless, the prices are higher, but mostly it is worth paying if you would like to enjoy a comfortable holiday with your children.

Just returned home from a 4 night stay at Hotel Merkur. I had taken my 3 Children on a Monday to Friday holiday to celebrate their milestone Birthdays, my twins turned 21 and my other daughter celebrating her 40th.  …

Visited their spa / therme (we did not stay over night) and it was amazing. They have 3 pools, two with salt water and one with mineral water. Hot sauna too. The entrance to the spa is 36 euro per day but it has a cheaper price of 18 euros in the morning until 13.30. Can't be booked online but at the spa reception only.

We stayed as a family in summer 2018. The room was a good size, comfortable beds and bathroom. We ate in the buffet more often than we planned - the walk into town in the evening is a bit longer than we anticipated. …

I stayed with my mom and sister for a week in late March (low season) and enjoyed every moment of it. The hotel complex is set back from the beautiful beach within the pine forest. …

TL;DR: We were yelled at by the restaurant staff and when we complained about the situation at the reception, we were rushed out with "This is Germany".#This was our third time at Dorint Seehotel Binz.We had loved it before and we even recommended it to friends. This time, however, was a completely different experience.Apparently, when you ask for an apartment, you don't get cleaning service. We didn't know that and that is acceptable. We just wish someone had told us: we were the ones responsible for the toilet paper refill, for instance. It was somehow fine for someone to be changing our locks during our stay. The person was very friendly and asked before. To be honest, I probably wouldn't even mention this if it wasn't for the experience in our last day, at breakfast. This was our last breakfast.Few details:> 52,50eur per breakfast> my kids eat a bowl of cereals, a slice of watermelon and they're done.I decided to prepare two breads with chocolate for the kids, for the trip. As I am placing them in a napkin, a waiter approaches to let me know I couldn't do that and, if so, I had to pay extra. I tried to explain that the kids cannot eat more at the time and this was for the trip. As she insisted, I asked what would happen to those breads if I didn't pay extra for them. As I expected, they would go to the trash. She was absolutely fine with that situation. So my husband decides to call another waiter, who we had seen before everyday and who seemed to be in charge. We naively believed he would be more understanding. Not only he kept insisting we couldn’t do that but he also actually brought me a poster stand where that was written and waived it in my face. I apologised for missing it and said I don’t necessarily read all the poster stands and pamphlets that are spread in the hotels. He apparently got angry with my reply and shouted “If you don’t know how to read, use your mouth and ask.” We were so shocked for his attitude that we just left. We decided to deal with the situation at the reception, when paying. To remind you, this is 52,50eur per breakfast. It was two breads with Nutella. For a trip. For our kids. When we approached reception and since we weren’t asked how our stay was, we start to complain about our experience. The receptionist couldn’t be less bothered about the whole situation, limiting her words to “ok”. When we mentioned what had just happened in breakfast, she reacts with a “This is Germany”. Again, I was shocked. If we were tourists in Germany, we could have actually believe that. It was the utmost unfair thing to say about Germany. Luckily we have had other great experiences, that will helps us forget about this one.Dorint Seehotel Binz Management,We will obviously not return but we urge you to rethink your approach and to please place some effort into training your staff for politeness and understanding.
