Food (with exception of breakfast) is quite expensive and mediocre. For that I subtract 0.5 star. The overall experience however is great, so I definitely would recommend this place. Rooms are large, beds comfortable, there is an indoor pool plus a state of the art sauna area, personal is friendly and the location deep in the forest is almost mystic.

Hotel Tanzbuche was recommended to us by our parents. The hotel is beautifully located and offers a lot of options, especially for hikes. The rooms are a bit old, but everything you need is there. It would be great if there was a coffee machine or kettle in the room. The breakfast was excellent and left nothing to be desired. The service was always friendly.We enjoyed half board and were able to choose from 5 different dishes in the evening. The food was excellent at all times. Special praise to the kitchen. The swimming pool is also impressive, everything is clean and tidy. The lifeguard does a great job. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed, so we probably won't be able to go on vacation with our dog. But we would be happy to come back for a short trip or a motorcycle tour.

It was our first time at Tanzbuche and we really enjoyed it. The rooms are new and large and comfortable. The bathroom is of a somewhat older standard, but that didn't bother us at all because everything was very clean and was cleaned daily. The hotel has a swimming pool and a sauna, which is especially nice after hiking. The sauna is not free, but it is definitely affordable. What we liked best was the food. It was very tasty, no matter what you ordered and you got the impression that the chef knew his craft. The breakfast was also excellent, sufficient and balanced, if you wanted you could even have sparkling wine. The staff is very friendly, unfortunately you don't find that everywhere these days and it looked like they were skilled workers. The restaurant wait staff in particular know their craft. This house definitely deserves praise and we will definitely come back. Many thanks to the whole team and keep it up.

In any case! Everything was right here, nice, quiet room, there was food, which could be improved a bit in terms of taste and freshness, but the hotel as such and the location were really great! It is perfectly located as a starting point for hikes. Gladly again!

We celebrated a family reunion in the Tanzbuche. The mountain hotel is located in a clearing in the middle of the forest, very quiet and is surrounded by numerous hiking trails. When the weather is good, it's nice to sit on one of the two terraces. Very attentive service with good Thuringian cuisine. The breakfast is also very good. In short: it was as we hoped. Gladly again at any time!
