We stayed there overnight to split our long journey across Europe. Very easy to reach by a few km deviation from the highway. We had such a good experience that we decided to stop there again on our way back.It's organised in a guesthouse way, with a restaurant downstairs and sleeping room upstairs. Our 4 bed room was very spacious and luminous.The food was very aboundant and delicious, I have even received a vegetarian plate that was not in the menu.In the evening the restaurant doubles as a pub for the locals, so it gives it a particular atmosphere.The breakfast waits for you ready at the table at the predefined hour! It makes you feel a welcomed guest.Some handcrafted decorative items can be bought there. Several books, mostly in German are available on place. A fridge with basic drinks and a piggy bank is placed in the corridor.Dogs are allowed and there are very nice surroundings for a pleasant walk.Parking on a quiet public street just in front of the house.

We feel comfortable all around. It's like we're coming home. We receive a warm welcome, the food is very tasty and the breakfast is also very good. This time we had the room under the attic, we felt like little princesses 👍😁🥰 we always enjoy coming to Christin and her team

Very good Thuringian cuisine with friendly and flexible service. It's great that there is still such a good restaurant. We felt very comfortable.

Not all windows can be darkened. But that's really the only negative thing about the hotel. Super nice owners in a central location.

My job made the German House my second temporary home. The family-run hotel was able to meet all my expectations and wishes. Modern, bright and clean rooms and a very excellent kitchen make it very easy for me to come back.Please keep it up!

Yesterday I went to the German House for my first birthday party and to be honest, I don't even know where to start with the bad criticism. At first glance, the location made a decent impression, just a bit old, but that was it, at first it was a bit very cool in the dining room, which was then attempted to be compensated for by the beautiful fireplace in the back part of the room Change, yes tried, because the owner was not able to heat it up, which was then done by someone from the birthday party. After the fireplace finally did its job and one could speak of a pleasant temperature, the room was too smoked, not exactly nice when the guests go home with smoked goods. Almost forgotten, it can't be that as a cook you carry the firewood with your hand on your body and then disappear back into the kitchen, or am I wrong?What can I say, the horror then continued with the food, 1. the portions are almost outrageous for the price, 2. the staff wasn't really able to get the ordered dishes on the table at the same time, Well, it was a big round, but if the first ones finish while the last ones get it, that's not quite as appropriate. Now I would like to come to the quality of the food, after we arrived a little later, I was given a small soup as a starter, which was declared on the menu as a fine noodle soup, but there was no noodle in it, instead it was mushy semolina dumplings and an egg table However, this thin pulp tastes like next to nothing.Now I come to the main courses, I chose the goulash, which however didn't deserve this name, the taste was okay, but when I open a ready-made meal tray from the supermarket, it looks and tastes pretty much the same, like what was served there.Now I would like to come to the beef roulade that my partner and a few others at the table chose, the thing was just tough to the point where you almost had to choke it down, the sauce had a really bad aftertaste and no Even the red cabbage couldn't save the dish; it was more of a purple mush that was generously flavored with the taste of cloves. It also seemed to me that two types of red cabbage were served, as this was not the case with the goulash to my liking. Unfortunately, it didn't really make the ice cream dessert we ordered any better, the hot berries didn't really taste like fruit.The crowning glory of the whole disaster, however, was the cleanliness, no matter where you looked, dirty floors and cobwebs in every corner, from the dining room to the hallway to the toilet, even on the tables and chairs, which was visible as soon as you entered.The only thing I would like to mention in a positive and praiseworthy way is the young lady from the service, she was the only one who really made an effort and was very friendly, which is why she got the two stars.In retrospect, I wouldn't visit this location again, there are certainly better addresses in Leinefelde. In any case, I can't speak of bombastic and excellent, as in other reviews, and I can't understand them either.Dear Dransfeld family, I am aware of the ban and the circumstances surrounding it. Instead of issuing it, they should have accepted the criticism, but as I have seen myself, they were not prepared to do so, which is a shame. The hotel is located in the center of Leinefelde, a 5-minute walk from the train station. There is everything you need around the hotel.The hotel is small, the rooms are clean and functional.The owners are very nice. I had booked bed and breakfast and was positively surprised by the breakfast. Not a loveless buffet but a well-prepared breakfast plate and lots of fruit. Just great.There is a drinks fridge in the hallway where you can get something to drink for one euro.I also ate dinner at the hotel last evening. Delicious!Conclusion: If you are looking for practical accommodation with great food and fair prices, you have come to the right place. If I'm in the area again, I'll come back.
