We stayed only for one night during our bike tour. Extremely nice, flexibly, and helpful owners. At first look it doesn't look to welcoming but once you go to the backyard where the entrance really is you get a different feel. It has a huge beaurifully kept garden. We had a room looking the the yard so away from the main street. The rooms are decorated with an old fashioned, or rather traditional charm. It was clean, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast had a great variety. I only did not give 5 stars for the room as there were some spots that needed attention especially in the bathroom. But truly it did not bother us at all. We would definitely choose the same hotel if we are around.

Very nice landlady... but that doesn't help me get over the shortcomings. The house, although charming, is very outdated and leaves a lot to be desired, especially the cleanliness of the rooms.I originally wanted to stay from Tuesday to Friday, but after one night I looked for and found another accommodation and then checked out straight away in the morning. There were several reasons for this... The sheet had stains and hairs and didn't smell fresh, nor did the rest of the bedding. The shower door is unappetizingly dirty. The toilet brush is even worse...The landlady was friendly, understanding and didn't charge anything for that terrible night.

We have been coming here regularly for many years and feel extremely well and warmly welcomed!Even if the room furnishings are not always modern, who wants that?! It is clean, cozy and has a homely charm for our taste! A hotel with tradition and a good breakfast and the absolute highlight is the beautiful and well-kept park-like garden....you look for a cozy corner in beautifully landscaped flower beds or right by the water and let your soul unwind....as a city dweller it's the perfect retreat. Our thanks go to the hotel hosts, the Schmilewskie family, for many wonderful hours at the Hotel Krone😊

Exquisite menu in the upscale segment. The mussels are particularly worth mentioning. Bravo! A real insider tip if you are traveling in the greater Nuremberg area. A detour to the chic baroque town of Roth is definitely worth it! We were thrilled and would love to come back.

I stayed at the Hotel zur goldenen Krone for a long weekend to unwind after a triathlon. I was simply thrilled by the chic ambience of the establishment. Modern but traditionally furnished rooms with a connection to Tantrism. I spent lovely hours here with my lovely wife and we fell in love with the little town of Roth. Nice staff, always friendly.

Rooms old-fashioned and worn out. Doors don't prevent you from listening to conversations from next door. Loveless breakfast with dry rolls.Worst of all, you felt like you were a nuisance and you had to try to ensure that the landlady didn't have any reason to be annoyed by your presence. The lack of a reception and the sheer impossibility of getting anything confirmed by email, i.e. in writing (in order to record agreements for both sides or to be able to eliminate any misunderstandings), indicates that only a minimum of effort is wanted for paying guests .When I arrived I was accused of being late and that after all I couldn't wait all day. If no one has anything to do with me or no one can understand anything anymore because there was never any traffic and no such opening times are communicated on the website, that's honestly not my problem. A few more offensive comments made me want to turn around again - unfortunately I had to do that. Side note: I got married that day and was completely nervous anyway. I would have expected a bit of consideration. It was icy at breakfast and it seemed as if everyone involved was happy not to have to see each other again.I've never experienced anything like this!If there weren't so many alternatives for the "hotel" in Roth, I strongly assume that it wouldn't be able to survive otherwise. If you don't have to live in the middle of the city, but still want/need to stay nearby, I recommend the country inn in Rothaurach. Here you will find 5x more “hotel” and professionalism than here. For 80 euros a night I can feel unwelcome somewhere cheaper.

Rooms are very run down. Floor partially collapsed. Cleanliness also needs improvement. But the hotel management was nice and friendly. Breakfast was delicious.

Unfortunately the rooms are rather underground! The name “golden crown” can only mean dentistry! For the price you can expect much more modern rooms!

Unfortunately, the planned and booked stay did not take place. I booked by phone 2 weeks in advance. In addition, I called again the day before, announced myself and stated my arrival time. Then, the next day, I was standing there with my suitcase and suddenly they knew nothing, no room. Yesterday's call? Shrug. Quote: "Go to the Dormero, it's right across the street." Sounds like this isn't the first time this has happened...Hands off! Unprofessional and unreliable!!
