Hotel Houser was a lovely place to stay in Nuremberg. The staff was very welcoming and kind upon our arrival. The rooms were nicely decorated, spacious, and clean. The beds were very comfortable. …

I travel to Europe nearly every year & spend most time in Germany. I've stayed in many traditional & simple guest houses - to 600 yr. old buildings - to castle hotels. This trip was 20 nights in Germany. This was the worst hotel of the trip, though the office ladies were very nice. I understand those with less experience raving of the historic nature & location. The location is really nice. The hotel is sub-par. The rooms are dingy with poor lighting. The mattresses are horrible & worst I ever encountered in Germany. They advertize air-conditioning but the rooms are not. They have small portable a/c units with 4" hoses that vent out an open window. It hot weather the open window lets in more heat than the small unit can begin to handle. Ridiculous. There is no breakfast available. It's two flights of stairs up to the 1st rooms. Both the affiliated parking garages are the smallest I've ever seen. Can't even open your car door. (there is a garage 5-10 minute walk to the east that has nice size spaces for only 3,00 more you can find on google maps). I hope this helps fellow travelers know what to expect & possibly avoid. You've been warned.

This is is a nice hotel in an excellent location but massively overpriced. We paid nearly €300 per night (€897 for three nights, booked off our credit card 3 weeks before arrival). …

Great value for money hotel near the heart of Nuremberg. The rooms are spacious, clean and modern and the bathroom is good. There is aircon and a fridge provided and plenty of information about the city and hotel services. The service itself was great as we arrived early and were allowed to check in. Additionally we were given a city map and shown a nice walk to do starting from the hotel (I'd recommend doing this). Upon arrival you have to walk through the restaurant to reach the reception.

I'm not normally somebody who posts reviews but felt I should for the Hotel Hauser. Yes, there is no lift and (when I visited) there was no restaurant, but for most people that will not be a problem: you are right in the middle of town and can get breakfast wherever you want. For the price, the character and the location I don't see how you could do much better. The staff were all incredibly friendly and went out of their way to be helpful with local recommendations. It feels personal in a way few hotels do, without dropping any of the professionalism.

I really enjoyed the experience, except for 2 things. It's a great location, the staff is an excellent resource for what you want to see and do in Nuremburg. The room was very comfortable and clean. The issues are that there is no lift, and it could be a struggle for some with luggage. The other is that the portable A/C in my room was not vented anywhere, and the hose was not long enough to stay outside the window. Otherwise I would definitely stay there again.
