Maybe not the most romantic hotel, but a very romantic city. The location is perfect. Don't forget to go to the Nachtwächter tour every day at 9 pm.

The hotel is very cute, rustic and perfectly located. The staff are very caring and try to make you feel very comfortable. The rooms are clean and spacious. On the downside, the bathrooms could do with a refurbish. They are quite dated. The wellness area is a bit disappointing. We booked a wellness package only to find out sauna and steam room opened at 4 pm. The pool area has a very sterile look, not to compare with a relaxation area. A big positive, the added massage was amazing. All in all, a lovely place to stay for sightseeing in and around Dinkelsbühl.

This centrally-located, old-school hotel is nice for a short stay. The room we got was very spacious and cool, which helped with the sweltering heat outside. The breakfast was very good - small selection but high quality. Coffee could be better, its your standard pot coffee that was OK mixed with milk. The negatives - the doors of the rooms are thing so the noise from the corridor is loud (and some guests were very loud). It is an old hotel and there is no elevator. Going up to the top floor on long flights of stairs with a luggage could be hard for older people and those with mobility issues. The location is central but the street outside is not active, so not much noise from there.Overall, a solid hotel, nice staff.

I stayed in a double with a very small bathroom with my teen son. Thankfully, my son and I are thin framed, so we made the bathroom work for us. I am not sure a person with a larger frame would feel comfortable in such a small bathroom. The door to the room was stuck several times to get in and was not properly aligned, leaving a gap at top. The hotel uses keys for each room instead of key cards. It is my understanding that the hotel's rooms were recently updated with newer furniture, but the hotel could also use updates to its overall condition. It is a beautiful location and a 2 or 3 minute walk to the town's central stores and restaurants. The hotel itself also has a restaurant. The service was wounderful at the hotel - very friendly and attentive. By contrast, I wish I could say the same was true for service for other establishments in Dinkelsbuhl... Overall, this location is ideal for the traveler who does not need a new modern ascetic as the hotel is furnished with historical furniture in the common areas and the bathrooms are outdated. It also has a few rooms that face an indoor terrace, which is very pretty and relaxing. In some ways, it is a hotel for those who want to feel they are in a 1980s establishment and want to feel like they are part of the overall medieval history of the town. Some of the female staff are dressed in traditional medival attire.

Nice hotel, with a remarkably good breakfast (small selection, but really good quality - I loved the Frikadeller), clean, and perfectly placed to visit Dinkelsbühl.On the downside, the doors do not seem to have any sound insulation, so you are very exposed to late noises from other guests, and it does not count with an elevator - which might be important to know for anyone with mobility issues, or with difficulty to carry their luggage one or two floors up.

We arrived in town and there was a festival going on. The lady who runs the hotel was so friendly and explained the reasons behind the event. She is very "genial", German-meaning pleasant and personal. The room was smaller but very clean. The furniture in our room had been carved. The breakfast was great. The location was great. We will definitely stay here next time we come to town.

Location: Couldn't be better, just off the main road so it's less noisy, but it's close enough to everything. …
