If you're going to stay in Südstadt, this is the best place. The location is quiet, but close to everything - it is perhaps the only hotel in all of Köln where you can find such a great balance of the two. The rooms are nice and cozy, and the beds super comfortable, breakfast is good, and the ambience of the hotel is super nice (it doesn't feel commercial...it feels super homey, with a garden that you need to walk through to get to the rooms, bikes parked outside, a church on one side, a language school on the other, an actual school behind it, and spread out between two cool looking buildings). The people that stay there are all really cool and interesting, since it is a hotel meant for conferences. But most of all, the hotel staff is super nice. Shout out to Stefan and Sasha, and everyone else there - they are probably the nicest hotel staff I have ever met. They don't see their hotel job as just a job, they really care about the community they live in and want to do everything to help the guests feel comfortable in Köln. I was feeling sick before coming here due to having allergies at a different place, and they helped me so much. They're awesome, thank you guys!!!

Unfortunately, I had a really terrible experience at this hotel. They use these electric keys called transponders but they don’t work very well. I stayed two nights and both nights I had trouble accessing the building. The second night I was locked out for 1.5 hours, quite late. I must have tried to use the transponder to get in more than 500 times in the 1.5 hours I was waiting. I tried contacting an employee at the hotel but couldn’t reach anyone. I tried any official number I could find. An employee finally responded to me late the next morning after I’d already checked out. No apology for the issues with the key. It was truly an awful experience and I won’t ever stay here again.

A very nice place to stay in Cologne! It's not in the city center, but it's not off the beaten track, either, which is just perfect. The rooms are bright and spacious and most of them have an en suite bathroom; the service is nice and helpful and the meals tasty. I also liked the neighbourhood very much, as it's quiet and visually pleasant, yet there are many nice cafes and a beautiful Volksgarten park within a walking distance.

Nice guesthouse for short stays in Cologne. The location is good with the city centre just a 15 or 20 minute away by walking or a few minutes with taxi. Clean rooms and beds, and the staff is very friendly and flexible.
