I've stayed in dozens of Conference Hotels around the world and think that this is my new favourite. It's set in a beautiful part of Potsdam, the opportunity to step out for a short lakeside walk is there and the food was very good. The AGIS Conference will be held there next year, and I'm looking forward to it already.

It's a 4 from an American who is not accustomed to the lack of air conditioning in a hotel room and common areas. Was there for a business trip so room was paid for. My attire did not mix well with the open-window climate control. Sleeping with a window open can be fun when it's part of a plan but I had not planned it for this trip. The campus is beautiful and the rooms are modern. Service and accommodations are 5 star ⭐. I'd revisit on holiday with appropriate attire but would spend the extra cost for air conditioning in the room.

The food is of low quality and not appealing at all. This should be updated to a more modern style of cooking.Your staff at breakfast time is much too eager to remove plates, even with fresh food, just in the time you take to go and fetch a cup of coffee. Several times I had to pick up food again because of this overzealous behaviour. Both times I stayed with you, I was disturbed by cleaning staff coming at unexpected times, in the afternoon, apparently to check on the work of other staff, but highly inconveniencing me.

Nice place, however you have to pay extra to use anything in the hotel.. you have to pay extra to rent/buy things to use in the pool area and you must pay for parking!! Even though we are a guest paying for a room!! I thought this was a little unfair..Nice restaurant downstairs

Went there recently for a conference. Great location right in front of the lake. But that was about it.The single room is tiny - with just enough space for a bed, table and your suitcase. It was very warm in May and there was no air conditioner. I borrowed a fan from reception but it was a very tiny table top fan and I was still sweating in bed, as it was unbelievably hot. All the balconies are connected, so I was not comfortable sleeping with the balcony door fully open -- it was open slightly (you can have the top only open) and that was still not enough. And the train goes by regularly - so remember to bring ear plugs if you are staying here. No small fridge to keep beverages cold either. Food was good, breakfast nice, but the staff, especially kitchen and waitstaff had very limited English - and were very curt. I wouldn't call this a 4 star hotel. (After returning I saw on Tripadvisor that a similar complaint was made in 2017, to which the reply was that not all rooms are updated with airconditioning. It's now 2024 - and I can confirm - many rooms are still without ac.)

Was there for a huge convention. No AC in the main area, a tiny mobile AC for the biggest room, but not nearly equipped to cool the room, so it was hard to focus the whole day. Some people sweat through their shirts, that is how hot it was. Location and food (catering) was very good.Maybe just get at least a venting system for these conventions of a couple hundred people in one area.

We spent 3 days at the hotel during a conference and I think that I met the best world’s waiter here (his name seems to be Sven Richter)! …

Quite nice Hotel with a good and friendly service. The room size is very good. But, make sure you are getting a like side room. Otherwise you might hear the trains. Rooms are clean but furniture's are reaching their age quite soon. All in all, nice place to stay.

🧳Entrance and Check-in:The cobblestone entrance can be a bit challenging for pedestrians with luggage, but once inside, things get better. The reception staff was very friendly and welcoming, making check-in a breeze. However, they could improve by asking for cleaning preferences without making assumptions about environmental concerns.🛋️ Room:The room itself is clean and functional. The shower, though, has some noise issues, possibly related to the drainage system, which can be a bit disturbing. On the bright side, the mirror with anti-fog function and lighting settings is a cool feature. However, noise from other balconies can be disruptive in the evenings. Closing the window helps, but it might be problematic during summer when there's no air conditioning, and the balcony connects to the next room, reducing privacy.🏋️Fitness:For fitness enthusiasts, the gym is a highlight. It's well-equipped, has a separate changing room, and provides drinking water - ideal for staying in shape while traveling.🧖🧖‍♀️ Wellness Center:The wellness center is perfect, with crystal-clear water, ample resting space, and a textile-free sauna area. They provide towels for this area, and there's a separate changing room for added convenience.Hope it was helpful!
