Very comfortable room and beds. Good breakfast and service. Enough washrooms for everyone. Absolutely family friendly as well. The location is a bit on the downside because one has to walk quite a bit to the Strassenbahn. However it is a 10 min walk from the Schweriner Strand (beach) and 5 min walk from the zoo. It is literally located within the forest

We (2 adults) were looking for somewhere to stay overnight in Schwerin at very short notice. The hotels were fully booked or outrageously expensive. After a short phone call with an employee, the destination was clear and he even waited for us after work. The building and the rooms are what you would imagine a youth hostel to be: functional, clean, shared showers and washrooms on different floors. It is not a luxury hotel, but with a reasonable price. It is completely sufficient if you are only there for sleeping, personal hygiene and eating. On the grounds, in a forest, children and young people can let off steam or reach the lake in just 5 minutes on foot.I was amazed at the breakfast buffet. There was nothing missing. However, we left before the other meals, so I can't say anything about that. The common room is large, but not echoey and activities are possible there in bad weather. Conclusion: Completely sufficient for a holiday in Schwerin and unbeatable in price. Minimalism but still cozy and the friendly staff is extremely helpful. What more do you need?

The toilets are nuclear contaminated. The communal showers have a glaze of mold. The windows are leaking. The rooms are too small.

The location of the youth hostel is quite good. It takes 10 minutes to get to the city by car. The beach section is also only 10 minutes by car.We were guests at the youth hostel in the first week of the holidays. From day 1, I was woken up at 7:00 a.m. by construction work on the house. These took place right at my window (1st floor). There was digging, drilling, screaming and loud music. This was very unfavorable for relaxation. We were not informed in advance that construction work was taking place. Which should actually lead to a price reduction. The next point that wasn't obvious is that the bathrooms are in the basement. There are shared bathrooms with toilets. Also just underground. I had to have my bedding changed the first day because there were small brown stains on the headboard of the blanket. (Disgusting)The breakfast was very one-sided but still quite good. The evening meal was varied and also tasted good. Staff was friendly and easy to get along with. All in all, the biggest disappointment for me in a long time.Too bad.

The house is in really bad condition. It doesn't meet the standard of 2023. That's why only one star. The showers in the basement with mold are bad. The proximity to the lake is great and the connection to public transport is good. The staff and organization are super friendly, helpful and very accommodating. A great team.

We were settled here as refugees from Ukraine, we spent about 7 days and were very pleased with how the people who work there treated us). we could wash our clothes and even dry them in the dryer, which was a new thing for us).. very pleasant atmosphere, very beautiful views around this hotel!.. thanks to everyone who sheltered us here in January 2024!..

A lot of spiders and insects, moldy and dirty showers, unclean rooms, bed linen has strange stains, beds are scribbled on and partially damaged and you feel like you can't sleep, stinks, dirty toilets, food I have no idea, I didn't eat it. I give the recommendation which one is on the beds. Stay away and don't buy this. Worst youth hostel I know, it even has communal toilets for competitive sausages with the Bres and a nice game of Clash Royale on the side. With a partition, it still smells like a horde of orcs were living there. Room btw just as bad with smell. The insects die from the smell in the bathroom (really)

The employees are super nice, but the whole building smells like a goat barn. The showers are like they're from the 80s, the rooms are way too narrow. There is mold on the ceiling in the showers. Unfortunately the power supply is also poor, there is only one socket in each room.
