This place came highly recommended, largely from our lonely planet guide. Unfortunately, our stay wasn't quite as great as the reviews would make you believe. The staff is GREAT, I want to say that, and the place has a boat-load of character. It's definitely cool, especially if you like the out-of-the-crowd, quirky, old funky type of place. But the rooms were a little dirty, not cleaned super well, and the big gripe here: the floors squeak like you cannot believe. We tried three rooms, and they all did it, so it wasn't just ours. And it's not a nitpick here, I'm telling you, these floors wail like restless banshees when the slightest weight is applied, anywhere, always. We stayed two nights and by the time we left, we were haunted by it. Our nerves were frayed and our constitutions withered by the squealing. We stayed in bed whenever there just to allow the screaming sprits some rest, but evening turning over in bed would elicit the squeaks. Do not underestimate this gripe. Overall, outside of the squeaks, the place seemed cool, and like it might be better in-season, but like its Glory days are in it's past.

The hotel has a good and quiet central location in the city center. However, the house is quite old. The room was very dirty, spiders and cobwebs everywhere. Defects in the shower and toilet lid. …

A beautiful old hotel with a lot of love to be found in every single corner. The hotel is small but super charming. The operator is unique, super nice and can tell a lot about the history. All rooms are designed differently and you can see the attention to detail no matter where you look. The visit is worth it just for breakfast.

Wismar is always worth a trip. We were there as a tour group from August 30, 2024 to September 1, 2024. The location of the hotel is quite good. But the price-performance ratio is a disaster. I've had to stay in many hotels but Hotel Reinhard is by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. In the bathroom of the farmer's room there was black dirt on the joints in the shower. In general, the sanitary facilities leave a lot to be desired. In my opinion, the breakfast is an absolute disaster and, in my opinion, grossly overpriced. Every youth hostel is better. The rolls seemed like baked rolls, the coffee - something to get used to, the breakfast buffet - well, I'm used to much better in the price range. The advertised beer garden could not be found.Overall, the hotel was the only unpleasant flaw of our visit to Wismar.

First I would like to say that I am only giving stars here so that I can write something. I can only advise everyone to believe the consistently bad reviews. Because no one here wants to harm the hotel out of spite. It's really underground here!Nothing looks as beautiful here as it does on the website! We stayed at the Hotel Reingard for 2 nights in September 2024.Even arriving was scary. Our room was in the back yard. This was very dilapidated and dirty. The building itself was completely run down from the back and the front. Our room was called "apartment" and was a ground floor room with direct access from the back. When we came into the room we were greeted by an extremely musty smell. The room was freezing cold, the blankets and pillows on the beds were clammy. The furnishings were very worn. It was extremely dark. Spiders swarmed the walls and in the corners. Partially alive and already mummified. In the corners and between the feet of the furniture there were densely woven spider webs with all sorts of dirt and dust. Also on the back of the bed headboard. The floor was also very dirty in all corners and along the skirting boards. It wasn't just once that people forgot to clean up. This dirt shows that there hasn't been any cleaning here for years. In the bathroom there was still the loose toilet seat mentioned in other reviews. The single lever mixer in the shower was completely loose and wobbled dangerously. The horror continued the next morning in the breakfast room. Here too, everything is more than just worn out! It also smelled very unpleasant here. Counted slices of sausage and cheese were already lying on plates that were already on the set tables. Likewise, already cut fruits and vegetables. Open jars of jam and honey stood on two small serving trolleys, some of which only contained sediment and had been scraped out and smeared unappetizingly. Where is the hygiene here? The icing on the cake was the swarm of fruit flies that romped around here. Our table was against the wall and these little flies were sitting here too. Just disgusting! On the way to our room, you could look into the kitchen from outside. Horrible, everything was full. There was no visible work surface. There were used jars and bags of food everywhere. Where is the health department here?!We asked Ms. Reingard Berger if she would read what was written about her hotel on the Internet. To this she simply replied that she had nothing to do with the Internet and wouldn't read it anyway. When confronted with the reference to fruit flies and spiders, Ms. Reingard Berger said: The flies cannot get through the open jam or the fruit and vegetables and the spiders are an indication that there are no pollutants or toxins in the walls. So there is no understanding that there is an urgent need for action here.Never again!!!

The rooms are individual, when they were furnished 30 years ago they were certainly beautiful. Today you can clearly see that nothing was invested in preservation for a very long time. The advertised breakfast buffet was not available; cold cuts, cheese, fruit and (bad) baked rolls were provided at the assigned table.Payment can only be made in cash, which will certainly no longer be acceptable in 2024.I don't want to talk about the bar because it's practically non-existent.I would not recommend this hotel.Am disappointed…

Horrible🤮Not worth a star. Rather a minus point. The rooms are musty and dirty. Spiders 🕷️ in the rooms. Big cobwebs in the corners. Dust on the cupboards. Mattresses were clammy and stingrays were unpleasant. I cannot recommend the hotel to ANYONE. That you also have to pay for such accommodation. We would rather have compensation. Luckily we didn't have breakfast there. The kitchen is untidy. The bag of flour was open in the kitchen. Everything was full.I don't understand why Booking and others still offer this accommodation. The only positive thing is the central location. But I would go further than stopping there again.
