Went for a quick bite. Excellent location and the place is gorgeous. The price is OK but the food didn't quite mesh with the great ambience. Maybe the chef had a bad day.

The service was terrific. Our waiter switched over to simple German so we could understand each other and filled in with English whenever we could not. The food arrived within 15 minutes and was delicious. It was not even as expensive as I thought it would be, particularly for a tourist-oriented place in the middle of Oldtown. I highly recommend it.

Very poor service. Unfriendly, abrupt and rude, even by local standards. We came in for a small meal and a drink, the place was almost empty, and we were told it was not possible to just have coffee, a starter or cake, or a beer despite it being 3pm.The server could have simply said that they only offer full meals (funny, considering they advertised their cake, coffee and beer outside) but instead he very rudely dismissed usFYI: nothing to do with the language, the whole interaction was in German.It's a pretty place, that's about it.

Super friendly staff. Great fish dishes, fresh food and other typical German food with reasonable price. Good portion. Location is perfect in the city centre of Wismar.

Our visit was the summer of 2022.
The food looked and tasted like they had bought it frozen and heated it in the microwave. The server was rude. Sadly, this was a waste of money.

Has such high hopes for this place located on the main square. First night was full so we made reservations for the next day. Firstly they did not have their own recommend dish. Maybe the other options we chose were not the right ones. Food seemed just average. Inside of the restaurant was quite nice and historical. Friendly service.

Was on my bucket list, was not disappointed. Wonderful atmosphere inside. Best to reserve table, also if not good at climbing stairs let them know. Staff very good. Food was wonderful, very good selection, bit more expensive than an imbiss (😁) more than worth it. Was with party of 5 and we all enjoyed our experience. Will definitely visit next time in Wismar. 😎

Terrible! After waiting with children for one hour for the main course and kids dishes asking the the waitress for how much longer it will take we’ve been told that “it’s out fault we have to wait that long because we’ve ordered starters... “ when the main dish arrived the asparagus was overcooked , the fish was hardly differing from paper taste wise, the Matjes was defrosted (!) in a location less than 1km from the harbor! The waitress that served us was friendly - admitted that there are a lot of things to change, “but no one from the management would care”. Terrible experience!

Cool interior. Nice food but the service is not acceptable. The waitress doesn't speak English and is rude, ignores you and speaks German with you even after knowing that I speak no German.We ordered 2 soups, 1 main dish and 1 tea and I asked for tap water. They charged 2.3euro for tap water. If you charge 2.3euro at least bring a bottle of water?!?!?We got charged extra because we took only one main dish 3.5euro...?!?!?Will not go back

Great restaurant in the center of Wismar. Very friendly staff. The starter was excellent and the soup was fantastic. As the main thief I recommend three kinds of fish served either on dry or with three sauces, I recommend here to dry. Everything is great, so you will be full of food after the meal, but I still love to have a dessert. Well, and that was great as both the pancake and the "whipped hill" were very dense and big, so I could not eat them all but it was worth it. For the whole dinner of one starter of two soups, two main courses, two starters and a few beers, I paid $ 90, which I think will quite go away. I can only recommend this restaurant for anything bad I did not find here, just during the day I recommend you sit outside because it is tough inside but otherwise everything is fine.

Charming old wooden house, with very nice decoration inside.
We had the Wismar Fish Plate, grilled fillets of salmon, cod, and pike perch, spinach, and roasted potatoes. It was delicious! Service was very friendly too.

We had lunch on the way to Berlin from Lubeck. It's a small and cute little town and we ended up eating here as it was the only place around the town square that was mentioned in our travel book.Seems like the reviews are very mixed but maybe others didn't order swedish food. I had Herring 3 way (different sauce) with fried Potatoes over salad. The fish was very fresh and sauces were excellent, especially the dill one.My wife was happy with her fish and they even had a kids menu.

Great overal mood, correct staff but not overly friendly. Not to expensive but the food was OK - above average at best. Nothing to special. Worth going once to see for yourself.

Had a great time! Great ambiance, fast service and very delicious food at a normal price (and that's for one of the best restaurants in the city!
I would recommend going here. Especially recommend mecklenburger Rippenbraten!

We went here for a drink on the outside terrace, but was very surprised just how impressive this historic building was as I walked through to the toilets. The drink was nice as it was on the square, but do not miss seeing the inside of the building if you go there.
