Hotelpension Zum Gockl

The hotel lays a bit from the main road. To get to the restaurants and shops you have to walk about 10 minutes. There is a supermarkt, a few restaurants and a nice little cafe serving a delicious Icecream near hotel Huberhof.The hotel itself has a very nice hostess and personal. They speak german and english and you pay with cash so do carry that with you. Luckily, room 12 was ready when we arrived (which was waaay to early). Up on checking the room there were a lot of musquitoos so we had to hunt those down first. It is a 2 person room but the beds are not together so my husband does not have to worry about his blankets being stolen. The covers where clean and the blankets not to thick so that is nice.There is a little tv, a closet and enough place to put your stuff down and away.The room looked clean, the kitchenette was clean though there where no pans and the faucet was leaking a little. The toilet and tables where clean. After moving some chairs I did figure out the vacuuming was a little hasty work and there was a noticable layer of dust on the head of the bed. But the room did not smell and the window can be opened completely with a cover from the outside so less chance of bugs and more fresh air for us! The bathroom was overall clean, the towels could use a replacement but seeing that the hotel looks like it is renovating the rooms and terras, it is one thing at a time. I did not expect much for 102 euros but the room was nicer and the people friendlier than I expected it to be.The night was good! The bed was comfortable, no bugs, no noises no sounds from neighbors! It was pitch black due to the window covers which a lot of other hotels could learn from.Breakfast was simple but good. Bread, spreads, cheeses and meats and veggies. Real scrambled egg with bacon (instead of the instant egg you usually get) and sausages to die for.I have not visite many hotels but this was a pleasant stay. I hope the renovations are going well and that others can enjoy there hospitality as well ❤️
