My mum and I stayed for five nights. The women at the reception didn't know any English. The rooms (we had two) were quiet, which was nice, but had old furniture and an unattractive appearance. They were not cleaned daily. Some items were broken, such as the restroom door handle and the electrical outlet in the wall. There is no elevator in the hotel. The breakfast was disappointing and lacked variety. Each day, the offerings were minimal and of low quality. On occasion, some items ran out and were not replenished. The location of the hotel was nice, just a 10-minute walk from the nearest train station.

The room was quite small with a tiny bathroom and a TV and WiFi that dosent work.It is within walking distance of a lot of places including boats, busses and a train station. The breakfast selection is really small and tricks you into getting small portions. My brother ate some yogurt that was sitting out in the open and got sick.So I'd avoid this hotel if you can.

The TV had no signal which was a bummer ss it was advertised and we were looking forward to watching the euros. There is also no cooling or heating which was a problem. This is all I have to say…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

It's not a hotel, they just have some rooms from the building next door that they rent. The room we stayed in was old, with a lot of damage, in the dust, 2/3 beds were comfortable, wrinkled sheets, old wooden windows, old dirty curtains, no air conditioning or fan (we opened the window and it noisy in the morning due to work), the internet was slow, the bathroom was old with wear on the wooden bench. For all the days we stayed there was no room service for cleaning and changing sheets, towels, garbage or toilet paper. They generally have an issue with cleanliness. It includes breakfast which has cheap products from Lidl and not a big variety, but you can put as much food as you want and at least fill your belly, so that's a positive. Also, the staff, even though very few spoke English, was polite. The location is very good near the center.Generally overpriced, needs renovation and cleaning.

I’d say that staying at Hotel Amelie is like staying in the spare room of someone who doesn’t like you.||You are in a kind of box room, with a bed that is smaller than you. …

Another reviewer has pointed out that this isn’t actually a hotel, just a hostel with private showers. A pretty good description, though personally I’d say that staying at Hotel Amelie is more like staying in the spare room of someone who doesn’t like you.You are in a kind of box room, with a bed that is smaller than you. You will be woken up before 8am by an amazing crashing of bins being taken out and/or put back. Breakfast is entirely made of long-life processed food, presumably so it can be taken away, stored and put back the next day. Not very appetising. There is supposed to be wi-fi. It will not work in your room. If you go to the reception area it will work, but so slowly that it is no use for any practical purpose in the 21st century. I don’t understand how it is even possible to have an internet connection that works at 300kbps/s (dial-up modem speed) in 2023, but here it is. If you explain your predicament, the staff will reveal that they have another network that works perfectly well, but of course not in your room. So a bit useless if you’re working while you’re here, as the “reception” area where the wi-fi works isn’t open a lot of the time.If this was a hotel you’d be able to get a coffee pretty much any time, either making it in your room or at reception, possibly by paying for it. But reception is closed and there’s no coffee there anyway, and you have no facilities in your room (not even water glasses), so forget that.Overall, if you’re not planning to sleep, eat breakfast, work, or drink coffee while you’re in Berlin, it’s fine. But otherwise you’d be better off somewhere else.

Two single beds pushed together in a clean room in the annex. En-suite bathroom. Breakfast included and very good.Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have hugely enhanced the experience.General store right beside the hotel was very handy.

Good place for its price. I’d recommend this place1. Great location. 10 min walking to Bode museum, 15 min walking to Bundestag.2. Kind staff.3. Free breakfast and daily cleanings.Among expectable disadvantages:1. Not that comfortable bed and pillows2. Noisy neighbors
