We arrived at 11:30pm and were told that we could not check in, we called the number on the website and they told us that everyone had gone home, despite a sign on the desk saying someone would be there until 12am. Absolute joke of a hotel and they definitely don’t know what hospitality is.

We were made to feel extremely unwelcome on arrival by a very rude receptionist. I had written in advance to say we would be arriving late, but before 22:00. …

This Hotel Fletcher Gelderse Poort is by far the least up to standard. And we have stayed in other Fletcher Hotels. Kettle, cups (even paper cups) and teabags are the most basic amenities a hotel must provide.Or perhaps it is a budget hotel??? Apparently its website says these aren't provided. So it is a budget hotel. We've often stayed in 3-star hotels too which provided them. We do not expect any other amenities but this really is dumbfounding. We were booked into this hotel by a bicycle tour company and they have failed to inform us of this.So everytime we want to drink something we must order from the restaurant. This hotel needs a complete revamp. On each of the 2 nights we were here, there were only 2 front-of-house staff. One manages the reception, restaurant where he takes orders, tends to the bar, serves and collects the dishes, collects payment and cleans the tables. The next morning he is serving at breakfast. There is one cook, and a female server. The 2nd night we walked in to ask for a table at the restaurant but were told we couldn't be seated as there was only one cook!!This hotel has a serious structural flaw. I think it shouldn't even operate. They obviously can't find workers

Front desk refused to do anything when our room key wasn't working, so we couldn't re-enter the building after 9:30pm. He said we were "lucky we caught him before he left to go home," spent a half hour doing nothing and said we'd just have to stay in our room because he couldn't do anything to help, and mentioned that he was supposed to have left for the night about a dozen times, all before he'd even tried so much as making a phone call to see about fixing it.Eventually--well after we were already too late and had been forced to cancel our plans and order dinner for delivery (which was itself against the hotel's rules; there's a card saying you can't order delivery and to ask them for other options)--he said they could offer us a different room in their other property. We refused, because why spend a half hour repacking and driving to their "apart-hotel" across town when we'd already missed our plans? The next morning, we apparently had the door card turned backwards--the housecleaner knocked, we said "sorry, no thank you" several times in three different languages including Dutch, she confirmed twice that she understood, but then angrily entered the room and stood in front of us--while my wife and I were both nude in bed--in order to show us the card and yell at us that it was our fault for having the card backwards on the door. That woman ought to be working in a mine.Booking dot com was no help, and said that the hotel refused any compensation because they'd offered us different accommodations and the door card was facing the wrong way.In short, unbelievably garbage-tier hotel with terrible service and an elevator that sounds and feels as if it's built out of LEGO. There's another Fletcher hotel in the area that's much better if you're partial to the brand. If nothing else is available, do yourself a favour and just keep driving. You'd be better off sleeping in the middle of the road.

A very nice hotel in the small village of Ooij. We traveled to Ooij by bus and I was surprised by how well the connection is from Nijmegen. You can go back and forth every half hour until well after Midnight. Ooij itself is quite small but very beautiful. The area around Ooij is well known from WW2 Operation Market Garden and there are many places you can visit in the surrounding area if you are interested in stuff like this. The hotel staff is very nice and made us feel welcome. The rooms are quite new and have a nice wide bathroom with toilet and shower. I did notice some mold in the shower and yellow brim on the toilet seat. Therefore I choose to give this hotel 4 stars instead of 5. Our room also was located near the elevator which was very loud and this was one of the reasons we almost had no sleep on the first night. We also heard a washing machine or something similar all night which didn't help. For the rest it was a great experience and we will return to this hotel in the future. Breakfast was simple but good and dinner was nice too. Do keep in mind that when you arrive in the evening it might be wise to bring some food from outside of Ooij. We arrived around 21:00 and there was no food available in the hotel and ordering food from outside is not allowed. We found a snackbar with a very nice owner next door but because it was this late he could only serve us fries and other fried snacks. Completely understandable in a small village like Ooij but something to keep in mind.

We’re here at the primary school having a great day reading Zulu poetry only to find that the hotel won’t let us in at midnight. Absolute disgrace.

Told that we needed to check in before 12am, arrived before 12am and no one was there. We called the number on the website and no one was willing to help/let us in. Absolutely disgraceful, avoid at all costs.

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Nijmegen. The room was comfortable, with underfloor heating. I didn't like that there was no refrigerator and kettle. But the price is very attractive, 61 euros per night in a double room.

Nice hotel, located just 10' outside of Nijmegen. We stayed there for 1 night while enjoying a concert in Nijmegen. It's nice to stay a bit outside of the busy city. Prices were more than half of the prices in Nijmegen. …
