Clean, quiet. I have used it as due to a fair (Messe) nothing was available in Essen area. It did require a bit more travel with public transportation, but it was manageable. Google Maps shows the proper ways to get there.Let me also mention the extra kindness to provide me an iron (which is not basic here, but could still be managed) without extra costs. Really kind. Thanks!

This was our second time in this hotel. Unfortunately, the deficiencies we stated in February have still not been resolved. The toilet flushed day and night, the water connection at the sink was dripping and the room door was completely warped. The ashtray on the balcony was not emptied and the room was not clean when we arrived this time. It was the last time we booked the hotel.

Centrally located hotel. No reception, key via safe. Room and bathroom exceptionally large. Furniture of high quality and in very good condition, bed large and comfortable. With room safe and large TV. Everything very clean. Free - roadside parking in the area. No breakfast, but 2 bakers in the immediate vicinity. We would book the hotel again.

So I really don't like giving out just one star, but this time I have no other choice. I'll get something out of it. We wanted to celebrate our wedding in Heiligenhaus and therefore booked a hotel there. The gentleman was super friendly and was really happy that we wanted to spend our wedding night with him. He wanted to make the room extra nice and prepare a little something. So far so good. Then came Corona. It was absolutely not possible to cancel and it was just as expensive as the overnight stay because we were celebrating one place further away, so we thought, it doesn't matter. Then there. He then emphasized again that he was making it extra nice and that he was happy that we were coming. Checked in the day before the wedding. Friendly, yes, but reserved. The Corona rules would have allowed breakfast, but we were only told that there was a baker up there. OK. When checking in, I briefly saw the rooms. First impression, everything was old-fashioned, but we had other things in mind. In the evening after the party we go to the hotel. The only thing we encountered was a sagging mattress. Totally dirty bathroom. Removed dark cobwebs from the ceiling and wiped down the vanity before putting our things there. Little thing about the wedding: none. Normal giveaways or anything else: none. We then had breakfast at home. He probably didn't want to make any money. Our guests also stayed there and wanted a small cake as a surprise for our son, whose birthday was the day after the wedding. Even pointing out that they would be happy to pay for it, which would be a given, didn't help. I find the statement that they aren't a bakery or something similar really inappropriate. After all, it is a service company. Bottom line, really not recommended. Since there are a lot of hotels, I would rather look for one where it is clean and the operators know that you work in a service company.

Room ok and clean. Organization could be better. Luckily the cleaning staff was still on site. The email with access data came 45 minutes late.

A nice little hotel. It's neat, but there are still reserves.Unfortunately the setup isn't my cup of tea, but there's definitely someone who will like it. Because as we all know, taste varies.I see the most need for change in breakfast, there is very little performance for a lot of money. Everything is only from the cheapest, not even wholemeal bread rolls are on offer.

Unfortunately, I had to sleep one night in this hotel a few years ago and now I'm wondering why it still exists. It's really like the negative reviews write here. For the life of me, I can't understand where all the positive reviews come from. The hotel is really an imposition. Breakfast, cleanliness, beds, parking, WiFi (The owner kindly points out that there is a fast Telekom hotspot outside the door on the street, of course not free of charge. The WiFi in the hotel itself doesn't work at all. )... everything leaves a lot to be desired.

The room was great, although furnished in an old-fashioned way. But since the entire hotel is furnished in this style, it was stylish again. I'm deducting a star because you shouldn't look up in the bathroom. No, I can live with that...laugh I found the price of €10 for such a breakfast almost outrageous. I still added a 2.x for reasons of convenience. The hotel is located right on the pedestrian zone and I can definitely recommend it!
