I was notified by google that my review was reported to be defamation. Therefore I am editing it into a more detailed version with photo to support that I actually stayed here. Below are my comments:My family and I had an unfortunate experience during our stay here:Upon arrival in the evening, there was no staff present to assist us, there was only a self-check-in pad at the gate. Despite the hotel advertising a 24/7 service number, our attempt to call didn’t seem successful. The hotel lacks an elevator, unless I didn’t find it, which made it difficult to carry our luggage up the stairs. The “free parking” advertised turned out to be street parking that guests must find on their own. When nearby spots were unavailable, we struggled to find parking in the area.We found the bed sheets in our room had some stains (we do not know if they just can’t be washed off) upon check-in. I’ve attached a photo illustrating the condition.(This is completely random personal experience) At around 1:00 AM and again at 2:00 AM, a man from a neighboring room knocked on our door requesting to borrow a charger. This unexpected interaction made us feel uneasy, especially with no staff available to address the situation.

My work-related stays at Hotel Barbarossa in Ratingen have been consistently outstanding, largely due to the exceptional service provided by Noemi at the reception. Not only are the accommodations comfortable and well-maintained, but staff's welcoming demeanor and efficient service truly elevate the overall experience. I highly commend Noemi for her outstanding job, making this hotel an excellent choice for business travelers.

We had a late check-in, but they made that super easy. The rooms are very nice and have comfortable beds. The bathrooms were a bit snug, but not a problem. Everything was delightful and the breakfast is tasty. Parking was the only real problem. There were not enough reserved spaces and we had to park 'mildly' illegally. Thankfully no ticket.

Very nice family run hotel. It's very basic, no spa, gym or something like that. But to be honest, I don't need that. All I need after a long day in meetings is a roof over my head, a bed, a shower and a broadband Internet connection for watching movies. It's all there and free of charge. The breakfast is also basic, but very good. Service and staff are very professional and very helpful. This is what a family business is all about! I like the concept based on trust - there is a fridge in the dining room stocked with a variety of drinks, 2€ each which is pretty fair in my opinion. Self service based on trust... I really like that.(see picture). Railway and Bus station Ratingen Ost is just a two minute walk from the hotel. Last but not least I really enjoyed my two nights stay and I slept well, which is usually not the case when I have to stay in a hotel.

Pleasant & friendly hotel in Ratingen very close to Ratingen Ost station & thus easy commute into Dusseldorf. About 5 mins walk into Ratingen centre.Very friendly & helpful reception staff.Doesn't seem to have a lift although only has around 3 floors.I was given a room on second floor. Although it was a single booking room seemed quite large with large comfortable bed. Hotel has a traditional feel with old style key locking to rooms & front door.Everything clean & comfortable quiet neighbourhood so i slept well. TV channels seemed a bit limitedBreakfast was good quality with usual continental & hot choices. I think building is quite old & there seem to be small steps everywhere inside.Overall friendly hotel with basic facilities, not my first choice in Ratingen but would stay again.

The rooms are clean. The building are old and you can feel an atmosphere of old German town. There is smell in the corridor and old stairs. WiFi is ok. Reception and service are very nice. The breakfast is not bad but too expensive . …
