Good rooms in a historical location - a bit outside the city center but using public transport you can get there quite fast. The bus stop is in sight of the hotel.

Feels like family run hotel. The service is fair enough though they do not offer breakfasts (or were not available during my stay). There is a bakery nearby where you can get all for breakfast you need.Room was clean and well equiped.

Being more a hostel than a hotel the rooms don't offer hotel amenities like a fridge and you only have a shared kitchen. There is also no reception desk at all.Location is quite noisy most of the time except some hours over night.

Ideal for travelers passing through - rather unsuitable for a longer holiday as no food is provided. There are bakeries and a very good Italian restaurant in the surrounding area (I went there once and it tasted great). Our room was very large and the bathroom was also pleasant with a shower and toilet. On the first floor there is a shared kitchen with a refrigerator (no freezer compartment), sink, etc. and an extra drinks refrigerator for a fee.Coffee is free for hotel guests. The kitchen leads to the roof terrace, which is great for chilling out!The boss is super nice and very accommodating, and also gives good advice on where to go to eat.

Our room was nice and big, it was quiet and cheap. The kitchenette was very large, everything you needed was there and there was a nice, large roof terrace. However, our room wasn't even cleaned even though we were there four nights with two children, who of course also brought sand into the room. The reception was sometimes occupied, sometimes not. I would definitely recommend it for one or two nights, but not for a longer period of time.

We have been guests at this hotel several times over the last 10 years.||Very clean, very pleasant atmosphere. You can prepare your own food in the large dining room/kitchen. …

Due to a family celebration, we and 7 people (3 double rooms, 1 single room) needed somewhere to stay overnight near Essen Werden. Our choice was the Rathaus 1910 and we were not disappointed. Large, clean rooms in a great historic building. Very nice welcome from the owner. The accommodation does not offer breakfast, but the large tea kitchen and roof terrace accessible to guests is a great alternative. A coffee or tea can be made quickly, and delicious sandwiches are available at the bakery across the street (also on Sundays). Very happy again.

Unfortunately, a personal stroke of fate prevented my father from going there as planned. At this point I would like to expressly thank you for your understanding and your accommodating handling of the cancellation. Such courtesy is not a given - we appreciate it all the more ♡ thank you very much!

Very unfriendly host, the rooms for 49 euros are clean, but the curtains were hanging down and the cables were hanging out of the socket. It is also impossible that the reception is not well staffed and when you bring someone there no one is there. For me it was the first and the last time.

Very individual and homely accommodation in a beautiful historic building. Our Africa room was very large and comfortable. Good WiFi and a large and nice shared kitchen with a terrace. Coffee and tea are available for free and various cold drinks for 1.50. There are two bakeries within a few minutes' walk that offer breakfast and sandwiches. Diagonally opposite there is an upscale chip shop with delicious fries made from fresh potatoes. The room was clean and towels and bath mats were changed daily, which for me would not have been necessary for environmental reasons. We'd love to come back!
