Great location, rooms good (shower no ventilation) breakfast rather mediocre...., UHT milk and oat milk offered in Tetra Pak, bad!! Rolls, bad for vegetarians... (when asked "we don't have any vegetarian spread"...) Vegans should stay away...

A very nice hotel... The food in the restaurant was highly recommended... unfortunately there is also the problem here with the lack of specialist staff... This meant that we were missing a suitable end to an otherwise very nice evening in the bar... Too bad...

I really like the hotel, starting with the very central yet quiet location, through the very friendly and quick staff, to the beautifully furnished rooms and the very rich breakfast buffet! Absolutely recommended, price-performance ratio is absolutely right. The menu in the restaurant didn't convince me, but the dish I chose was very tasty and if you don't like the menu, there are plenty of very good restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

we stayed for 1 night and this cost us 180€ (including breakfast). The hotel is very 80s style. When we arrived we talked to the receptionist and she was nice. we got our keycards and went in. The room looked like a nursing home. we got ready for STARLIGHT EXPRESS(see it if u can) and left. we came back and went to the bar (one of my main problems). The service is slow and unfriendly. As we wanted to pay he took ages to calculate the sum (proper equipment isn’t present here). We returned to the room and slept. Now heres my main problem with this hotel. The hotel is fine for a few nights but its extremely overpriced. We came down for breakfast and were shocked to see what was coming. we found a table. no cutlery nor was the table wiped. They didn’t come by themself you had to call them. The hotel does indeed serve eggs but you will not receive a spoon without asking. I recommend avoiding this hotel if you are very sensitive or impatient. How does this hotel have 4 stars?

The hotel is beautifully located right next to a park. Super conveniently located (approx. 1 KM to the city center and a 10-minute walk from the Starlight Express). The rooms are modern, bright and beautifully furnished. The reception and lobby are also bright and friendly and the staff are very nice. The only drawback: the breakfast. We were having breakfast at 9 a.m. on Sunday and the sausage had brown spots, the cheese was curled and the toast was beyond dry. Something like that shouldn't actually happen!

The hotel is very well located if you want to go to Starlight Express (about a 10 minute walk) or visit the zoo (it's close by, but you can't hear or smell anything!!). Or if you just want to relax (located directly in the city park). The rooms are modern and well furnished. The staff is very friendly. The price-performance ratio is right. Highly recommended

The room was very nice and clean, the hotel is in a good location. The staff was friendly and helpful at all times. Parking is available directly at the hotel, for an additional charge. Unfortunately there was hardly anything vegan at the breakfast buffet, but rolls with vegetables tasted good too 😉.

Every beginning is difficult...After renovation, the hotel has been open again since July 2024. The location near the city park and Ruhrstadion is good, the rooms and the interior are attractive.Room price vs. price/performance = OKWhat spoils the overall positive impression is the lack of well-coordinated staff.Booking a room by telephone was difficult due to limited knowledge of German.To secure the reservation (3xsingle rooms), I was asked to provide my credit card details.Unfortunately, all three rooms were charged to this credit card on the day of arrival, even though each guest paid for their room separately on departure.I've been waiting for >3 weeks now. to the reimbursement of overpayments.It leaves an aftertaste when credit card data is misused for purposes other than those originally agreed upon!I don't think the long time it takes to reverse the incorrect booking is a good thing.P Becker

There is parking at the hotel for €12 per day. There are about 25 places.Breakfast is great from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.The proximity to the Starlight Express is about 600m. It is about 1.5 km to the center. The hotel is right next to a beautiful park and there is a zoo next door.I didn't find the bathtub in the bathroom suitable. A shower cubicle would be better. The rooms are otherwise well equipped with a large TV which we didn't use. The beds are very good and don't sag, which is good for my back. The waiter at the bar is very attentive and quick to serve, which also applies to the breakfast buffet and reception. Overall a very nice and attentive hotel.

We - an older couple - stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. We knew it from back when it was called Courty Yard. We had reserved a de luxe double room. The room was also very spacious, but only partially renovated. i.e. the bathroom originally. Unfortunately, there is a large magnifying mirror here, but it is hardly usable because the bathroom is insufficiently lit with ceiling spotlights, i.e. h. Impossible to put on make-up. After a long search for a socket, it was discovered on the hair dryer when it was taken out.Showering in the bathtub is not ideal for older people as there are no handles and it is very slippery, and the shower area is also very narrow.After handing over our tickets, we were told that we also had barrier-free rooms and that we could reserve them.The box spring bed was new, actually good, but took a lot of getting used to, as one mattress and turning the other would wake you up if you were a sensitive sleeper.You don't have to have a big TV, but it would be necessary...No description in the room, neither TV nor telephone etc.The refrigerator was missing, the cupboard was there but empty.The room is also very poorly lit and therefore dark in the corner of the bed.One would have expected better lighting here.There is enough cupboard space and drawers for this.Everything was also very clean.Also quiet, with a view of the park, but we knew that from our last overnight stay.The breakfast buffet has changed completely, nothing compared to before. It's ok, but nothing specialI found it annoying that you had to cut the butter off the block or smear it on the spot.My rating is based on the fact that it is a 4 star hotel.If we have to go to Bochum again, then here we will only have a barrier-free room

The room has a good air volume. The area has a good air quality. The air change rate is insufficient. It needs a 24/7 ACH system which potentially uses zero or low power. We’ll be visiting again this hotel in this area.
