We were there a few weeks ago. It was the worst accommodation we had to spend the night in so far. The smell there was sickening. Room 2, the one we were in, was last renovated in the 1970s. The carpet was also dirty. To make the night short, we went to the cinema in the evening and didn't go back until after midnight. Why Booking.com has this hotel in its program will forever remain a mystery to us.

It's a shame, it used to be a real experience there. Service overwhelmed. Service very bad (the young waitress at least makes an effort!). Please don't expect any extras such as carbonated cola, lemon for the schnitzel or an extra portion of ketjup for the kids (it says so on the bill, costs extra!). The schnitzel was ok but nothing special. Price-performance ratio not good.

I wouldn't even give it one star. You can have an old facility... BUT I have never experienced such a DIRTY HOTEL in my life. What a shame!!! It wasn't cleaned at all. The toilet smelled and was full of dirt and urine. The shower totally made things worse. The cloths with skid marks from the previous guest!!!I requested a cancellation immediately. This is outrageous and should be checked by the relevant authorities!!

The very old-fashioned furnishings may have their own special charm, but the smell of the building and the cleanliness of the room could not stand up to it.Unfortunately, not only did we find a dirty and sticky toilet seat and bowl, but also the wall next to the sink, as well as the shower cubicle wall and the toilet door were full of various specks. The shower head and the faucet were very calcified, the shower was extremely dirty and the drain was full of hair and dirt. The bathroom floor was also dirty. The prepared towels were lying messily on the beds and are already very closed. When you open the closet, you are greeted by a musty smell, an old pillow and more messy towels and bed linen. The advertised flat-screen TV is an old tube TV with a few programs that you first have to look for. The existing cosmetic mirror is also dirty.Other guests let us take a look into their room, and it looked similar there too. The nice couple had already thrown their own blanket over the bed so they could sleep there. None of us wanted to walk around there without socks. We would have liked to have reported to the reception immediately after moving into the room, but there was no one there around 8:30 p.m., even though the reception was supposed to be open until 9 p.m. We only arrived shortly after 8 p.m.So, after eating out, we decided to change accommodation. We left the key in the mailbox and informed the accommodation by email. After now six days there has been no response. We changed to another hotel, which was further away from Bamberg, but offered significantly more comfort, hygiene, friendliness and service for the same price. We would have liked to have booked a smaller establishment rather than a large chain, but this was an absolute failure.

We expected it but... This hotel has two stars on paper, unfortunately that doesn't even correspond to one star in reality. The rooms don't appear to have been renovated in at least 20 years, which is particularly evident in the charmingly nostalgic tube television. The bed was so lumpy that it could almost be used as a hammock. The carpet is also past its best and is frayed at the edges. At least, the dust was almost comfortable and the dirt was within acceptable limits. The location, which is very good for a visit to Bamberg, and the peace and quiet remain positive. Conclusion: If you're looking for more than just a good location, you might want to keep browsing.

I don't even want to give this hotel 🏨 one star, it's not even worth the name hotel. Every homeless shelter is cleaner and tidy. The booking was made via booking! We reported to booking how bad this hotel actually is. We made pictures and videos available for booking so that more people don't fall for this terrible dump. We checked out immediately and quickly found another accommodation. The money wasn't returned straight away, so I had to work over the weekend (my opinion)! When we checked out, it was assumed that my husband and I were using the room for a quickie. That was the icing on the cake. The money (€317) was supposed to be back in our account on Monday, but it wasn't!!! The message from the “overly friendly owner” was that it was supposedly a day of rest in Munich. Munich? I was at Bamberg!!! It took a whole week to get the money back.Overall....keep your hands off the doss house

There is enough to sleep, the kitchen is sparsely staffed, the blue grotto is closed due to a lack of staff.
