Rural region where things are really above averageThe inn impresses with its small wellness area, but not the rooms. All rooms seem to have balconies. There are plenty of parking spacesThe gastronomic delicacies couldn't convince us, I exclude the breakfast offer, which offered a lot.We perceived the service employees in a differentiated manner based on their work.

Hotel without a tour, management not reachable in case of problems. Despite asking several times. At the reception, the staff simply didn't act or couldn't respond to problems. Simply a situation that several guests had caused.

The stay at “Zum Löwen” was very pleasant. The slightly expensive room category is worth the money. Wellness area and the whole house clean and tidy. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. The staff is very customer oriented - attentive and friendly. You'll be happy to come back.👍

Can't understand the bad reviews, staff very friendly and helpful. Room OK And clean. A renovation would only be nice in the bathroom. The food is good and the breakfast too.

Room was completely fine. Since we were there for the second time, I can't understand the price difference in the wellness room compared to the normal double room. We actually liked the normal double room better.I would only give service 1-2 stars if the cleaning ladies and especially our waitress Sonja hadn't been so on top of their game. The reception and the chef don't know much about the word service. Reception is able to switch on the sauna earlier on one day but not on the other days...so much for the vitalSpa Hotel we were there for the wellness weekend...sauna from 4 p.m.??? Well... to say to hotel guests who were signed in every day to eat on a card that I have to see if I still have a table is not possible. Otherwise there was no communication or hospitality to be felt. The chef is not able to make 2 different salad dressings for the buffet like in every hotel. Instead there was the same very sour balsamic dressing for 3 days.....The sauce for the Jägerschnitzel (thin, brown sauce with fresh mushrooms) was the same as for the loin in mushroom CREAM sauce. When he asked me not to scoop up so many mushrooms for a schnitzel with cream sauce, he said: mushroom cream is mushroom cream, there is no such thing as an “extra cunt”! Great service.Otherwise, you can't speak of canteen food as others write here because, apart from the sauce mentioned above, the food was very good.Breakfast was plentiful and a lot to choose from and the wellness area is also very nice. The external masseur is also highly recommended. One or two employees should change their basic attitude and then there will be more stars.

3 nights with a large group. Breakfast OK. The so-called buffet dinner was a disaster. 3 main courses indicated but only two offered. Everything is of poor quality and for €25. Plus a simple soup. We skipped dessert because of the extremely long queue. We had the other two dinners in the neighboring house, the Landhotel Augustin. A few classes better and almost inexpensive for what is offered. The rooms in the Löwen are outdated, the bathroom has emergency lighting and the shower is impossible. The whole house has seen better days and nothing has been invested since then, rather less. So hands off and choose another house.

Disrespectful, the food we ate could hardly be called food. After we went hiking we thought stopping off would be a particularly good idea, but not here. The sauerbraten was extremely dry, most likely warmed because the plates were so hot that our waitress was wearing gloves. The liver dumpling soup would have been better out of the bag because even the dumplings were still raw inside. Not delicately pink but raw. The only positive thing was the cream roast veal, which was tasty. But unjustified for the price (€18.90). Unless Schwabthal is a new metropolis because even a cyclist for €4.50 is overpriced these days. Of course you could have checked this beforehand, but it still upsets me. Price performance is also not justified for the portion size, see appendix. The rump steak is really difficult to fry and so putting it on a menu where nothing tastes good is risky. Because the degree of doneness for this has to be skillful. Even the ladies next to us let their food go back. Well-intentioned advice for everyone who wants to eat there. Leave it!

Far away from Bad Staffelstein, the hotel should be completely overhauled, everything is very outdated, no wellness offers, even though it was in the brochure, the sauna was only switched on at 5 p.m. The first day we had no hot water. I wouldn't recommend it in its current state

We stayed at the Hotel zum Löwen for six nights. Since my wife is dependent on a wheelchair, we had a barrier-free room. The room was large and the bathroom was barrier-free. The room's furnishings are a bit old but ok. There is a nice wellness area with a small pool. We felt very comfortable. The food was very good. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. We'll definitely come back.A return visit in August 2024 was more than disappointing. What happened to this hotel? At breakfast on the first day everything was very selected. There were wasps on the jam bowls. Rolls and bread were temporarily out, sausage platters were empty. The staff was friendly and helpful, but the problem probably lies with the management. We couldn't sleep at night because the staff were probably talking loudly outside the hotel until after midnight. When it was over 30 degrees, the patio doors couldn't be closed to avoid the noise. In the building next door, someone was talking loudly on the phone with the window open until after midnight (probably an employee). Since our room was in the guest house with a balcony facing the main house, there was some nuisance from the sound. At around 5 a.m. we started again. We did this for three nights and then left early. Nobody cared why we ended our vacation early.
