The first impression was great. The breakfast also left nothing to be desired. The staff was super friendly.However, you should work on the issue of cleanliness. Crumbs on the floor. Hair on the toilet and toilet paper dirty. No serious points, but for the price of an overnight stay something like that shouldn't happen.If I book a double room, I don't want to have to get up at night to push the beds back together.

The hotel is located right on the river, not far from the old town and is of course architecturally very beautiful.I stayed here for two days for a work event.The breakfast was very good, with lots of choice and the staff was very friendly.The room was large and cleaned properly. WiFi worked perfectly.Unfortunately, there was a lot of black mold in the joints of the bathroom, which is of course not just visually unsightly.Sauna area is charged an extra fee. Incomprehensible to me in this price category.I found the parking fees at 18 euros per night to be completely excessive, considering that the dimensions of the parking spaces can be attributed to cars from the 80s and that parking spaces are free in other even cheaper hotels.Unfortunately, the lunch and dinner, which were offered as a buffet, did not appeal to me either in terms of the selection of dishes or the taste. But that's just my personal opinion, others might like it very much.

We spent one night in this hotel. A standard room was booked. This was really big, in our case on the 2nd floor with windows facing the street. It was quiet.The breakfast buffet was sufficient. It bothered me a bit that the buffet is set up in the corridor where arriving and departing guests also go. But it's not possible to do otherwise due to space constraints. My gluten-free diet worked well. The rolls were individually wrapped and brought to me freshly baked from the kitchen.The hotel is located on the Regnitz, just a few minutes' walk from the old town.The underground car park costs 18 euros per day, but is very narrow.We would stay here again if we end up in Bamberg again.

Conference hotel for 2 days.

Good qualified employees. In the kitchen, in service and in cleaning. Parking facilities a bit too expensive. Unfortunately there is no disabled parking space at the hotel elevator. ForFor people with disabilities, the journey to the elevator is very long.

For our wedding anniversary we booked 4 nights in the Residenzschloss. Although the stay was initially disappointing due to service, the hotel was able to surprise us positively in the end.Negatives:Already at check-in it was noticeable that no interest was shown in our arrival, which gave us an impersonal feeling. Despite our special occasion - our wedding anniversary - there were no warm words.Well, we can live with that.As a little surprise for my partner, I asked at reception whether I could book a champagne package or something similar, as we hadn't noticed this when booking online. Instead of a friendly answer, however, I received a snippy and derogatory reaction from the manager: 'What do you mean by the hotel?', 'Then you should have booked it', 'Just ask the restaurant yourself, the reception won't do that. 'Even when we asked for an iron and board, we were referred to the ironing room in the new building. We understand that. The route was too far for us and it wasn't a big deal for us. We replied to the MA, and then another snarky comment came: 'pff, yes, I can't change anything'. That's where our understanding ends.A friendly comment is enough.Solution-oriented is probably a foreign word.When we returned from the city, we asked the receptionist if we could borrow a flower vase. Since our hands were full, we would have appreciated it if the vase had been brought to the room. Instead, another comment: 'You have to wait here for the vase because we don't have time to bring it into the room'. Mind you, there were 4 employees at the reception.Guests are not welcomed or ignored. In any case, the guests experience a demonstrative lack of interest, to the point that they have the feeling that they are being despised as a guest and would like to get rid of them as quickly as possible.Positive:Regardless, we had a nice, clean and quiet room (606) and had a nice view.In addition, a small blanket, water and food bowl including dog food was prepared for our dog!A plus point was the separate option to have breakfast with your dog in the bar area. Here we were able to have breakfast every day in absolute peace and privacy.Conclusion:The service, especially at the reception, was unfortunately mixed, sometimes semi-friendly to mostly unfriendly. There is a lack of guest friendliness and the unprofessional treatment marred a significant part of our stay. The impression that we were not treated appropriately as a same-sex married couple was all the more disappointing, but we would not like to comment on this further.It is said, ‘Nomen est omen’. However, we didn’t really feel “welcome” in the Residenzschloss, part of the Welcome Hotels group. Our stay was simply marred by the negative experiences.Ultimately, we took the opportunity to speak personally with the receptionist about our previous negative experiences in the hotel, with the hope that the way we work will change for other guests in the future. Here we gave the house one last chance to turn things around.At this point we would like to expressly emphasize that we just want to feel comfortable as guests in a hotel and receive a certain service free of charge without an agenda.In response to our negative experiences, the hotel surprised us with a small concession: we received belated wedding wishes including champagne and chocolates, waiver of parking fees and an apology in the form of a personal letter, which we saw as a positive and appropriate reaction from the hotel.The events described above left a bitter aftertaste for us, so much so that we were initially extremely disappointed and decided to avoid the hotel and the Welcome Hotels in the future.We are always proven wrong and can finally say that we would not rule out a second visit.

Accommodation price is excessive:|Room service only irregular and incomplete (no change of towels, lack of toilet paper, used cleaning cloth was on the coffee table for three days)||Bathtub shower completely …

Unfortunately, the rooms are not air-conditioned (due to monument protection). This can be difficult in midsummer. The breakfast is very good and rich!

Well located hotel. Beds and breakfast were great. The service staff was very friendly and tried hard. It's still a real hotel and not bunkers.However, I have two points of criticism. The wellness area costs extra, is a bit old and it smells like a canal. Point 2 would be the €18 parking fee per day. Parking is free in other hotels of the category. I found it a bit inappropriate now. You pay good money for the hotel and make good sales in the restaurant and bar and then you get good parking.Otherwise a great stay.
