We stayed in the Holzhaus Stark for 5 days and were very positively surprised by the facilities and the cleanliness. We had a very relaxing holiday with the Stark family. The landlords are very friendly and very accommodating and we didn't lack anything. The bread roll service was easy and punctual.WiFi is available and available at any time. In the Stark family's main house there is a pool that is freely available. All in all a top recommendation...We will definitely come back, we really enjoyed it...

Not 5 stars! We stayed in the Stark wooden log cabin for 18 days in the summer of 2019 and lived in the holiday apartment H2.The wooden log house is located in a settlement with single-family houses.Sitting in front of the house, we felt like the neighbors were watching us. Somehow we had the feeling that holiday guests were not particularly welcome there, because the sign “Please do not enter or drive on neighboring properties” confirmed our suspicion. When we greeted the neighbors in a friendly manner while hanging up the laundry, we got no answer. We were completely ignored. What was very disturbing for us was the fact that the house is located directly behind a busy federal highway. We live at home in a quiet residential area. So we were woken up in the morning by the noise of cars because due to the heat we had to sleep with the window open. The living and dining area of the holiday apartment is very dark and lacks daylight. There are no windows in this area, only lamps. The light must also be on during the day, otherwise it will be too dark. What was annoying was that we had to clean for an hour before moving in.Everything was very dusty. The floors and constantly used surfaces (tables, countertops) were clean, but there was a thick layer of dust on the cupboards, on the doors and on the light switches / sockets and especially under the beds. We noticed this as soon as we entered the apartment because we both have house dust allergies. Since the house was advertised as allergy-friendly, we decided to go for it. It's a shame that there was so much dust everywhere.Although there was almost no contact with the Stark family during the entire vacation, what was definitely positive was the fact that Mr. Stark took care of it right away when water leaked out of the ceiling on the first evening and our bed fell apart when we were lying on it had laid. The towels can be changed upon request. What really surprised us, however, was the fact that the fresh towels were put in our apartment. We don't know that the landlord of a holiday apartment enters the apartment while the tenants are away. That was very strange.Otherwise they never asked if anything was missing, if everything was OK...The designated bread roll service was also not available. The mattresses are really very good. Hardness level III. However, the two bedrooms are very small. There is almost no storage space at all. There is also a lack of other furniture in the living room. E.g. a chest of drawers where you can put things. We made something with our suitcases. The kitchen equipment is not sufficient. For example, a second pan, a proper spatula, a cucumber slicer, a salad spinner, a second set, and enough drinking glasses are missing, because there were only six of them available. We then used the toothbrush cups as drinking glasses. It is positive that all windows and the door to the terrace are equipped with insect protection. There is no real WiFi.You can dial into the “Land Regensburg Freifunk” hotspot, but you will no longer have a network connection after around 8:00 p.m. in the evening, as this hotspot is then probably completely overloaded. In addition, access only works from the living room and the first children's room. You cannot connect to the internet from the bathroom or the second bedroom. With a five star classification this is completely inadequate. Why isn't an in-house router installed here?In the Kelheim region there is the “Altmühl-Donau-Card”. When visiting museums, shops or restaurants, guests and locals benefit from discounts and bonuses. The card is available free of charge from many accommodation hosts, but not from Ferienhof Stark. Conclusion: There is still a lot to be improved here, especially when it comes to lighting in the dark dining room area, WiFi, and cleanliness.
