Quiet location, large area with playground, animals to pet, pony rides. The rooms are very well maintained. The Gerstner family is child-friendly and knows what families need.There are many leisure activities nearby (open-air swimming pool in Altmannstein 10 minutes by car, Dinopark 15 minutes by car, Altmühl 15 minutes by car) good service on site (farm shop with drinks, washing machine, bread roll service).There are many hiking trails around the farm, a stream with fossil stones - so there's a lot to discover. We can definitely recommend a holiday in the Altmühltal and on the Gerstner family holiday farm.

We were there for the second time this year with the family, very friendly hosts, a nice and completely sufficient playground right in front of the apartments for the children. The fossil quarry is a perfect 5 minute walk away and the children always really like it, as does the dinosaur park. There is actually a lot of hiking in the area and the peace and atmosphere is exactly as you would imagine. The fact that the farm itself unfortunately doesn't have that many animals anymore (1 horse, 1 pony, chickens, 2 rabbits) is a bit of a shame, but that never bothered us, everything else is really good, the rooms were very clean and the bread service as well Farm shops are a great fit, so all in all, highly recommended.

An absolutely unforgettable vacation lies behind us.We were warmly welcomed by the Gerstner family.Everything was shown and explained to us during a short tour of the farm.The apartments are very spacious and clean. An all-round successful holiday in which we really enjoyed the hospitality of the owners.We would be very happy to come back.

We stayed at the Gerstner holiday farm for 1 week in the summer of 2022. And we realized that we haven't come back from a vacation feeling so relaxed in a long time! Everything was just perfect!We have 2 small children (4 and 6 years old). Both got their money's worth: LOTS of different play equipment, a playhouse with LOTS of options on rainy days, LOTS of animals (especially feeding the goats, rabbits and chickens and petting the farm cat was great). The children were able to move freely around the yard.The apartment was in top condition! We didn't miss anything. We had the apartment on the 1st floor. The balcony was fantastic. All 4 of us loved having breakfast on the balcony! The view, the peace, the freedom - everything was just perfect!We also had a lot to discover in the surrounding area! The fossil quarry is an adventure, the Playmobil park, the dinosaur park and the summer toboggan run were perfect for the children, as was the leisure pool in the neighboring town. We often cooled down there in the evenings in the summer.We enjoyed our vacation so much that we booked with Ms. Gerstner for 2023!We also recommended the holiday farm to our neighbors. This family is now going there in 2023. :)We are VERY looking forward to our summer vacation in 2023 at the Gerstner holiday farm! And the children also often ask when we are going to Altmühltal again! :)

We felt very comfortable with the Gerstner family for the second time. Everything went to our satisfaction. Bread service is great! The farm has everything children need and enjoy doing.

We had a lovely time! The apartment was perfect for our needs, very clean and equipped with everything you need. The children were able to feed animals, ride ponies and play in the playground. The hosts were very friendly!

We were with the Gerstner family for the seventh time.Like every time, it was very nice this time too.The apartments are equipped with everything and are extremely well maintained.The Gerstner family is always open to constructive criticism and we have already taken you to our hearts.The children always enjoy coming to Schamhaupten because they can spend a carefree holiday here.Play whatever the weather in the specially built playhouse on the farm.Lots of excursion options for those who like it adventurous.We are already looking forward to the next time...

This was our first farm holiday. We were immediately greeted in a friendly manner and given a short tour of the farm during which everything we needed was explained. The apartment was neatly furnished and very clean. Bed linen, towels and various "kitchen consumables" were also available. Not very many animals, as Mr. Gerstner probably grows grain. But this wasn't a problem for our little one (4 years old), the goats, rabbits, cats, chickens, pigs and ducks available were absolutely sufficient. There are many excursion destinations in the area with Ingolstadt, Audiforum, Regensburg with Walhalla, Weltenburg Monastery, etc.
