We just stopped in for coffee. The cake selection is enormous and it is fresh and delicious. The wet benches in front of the house were rubbed dry especially for us.

We were actually at Dyck Castle and just went for a walk and discovered the monastery more or less by accident. Everything is very well maintained and entry is free. There is a great playground here and you can get coffee and cake for little money. We will definitely come back. We had a lovely afternoon.

I always enjoy coming to the St. Nicholas Monastery with groups! Everything is just right here: the food, the friendliness of the volunteers, the ambience! Any intolerances are taken into account and everything is prepared with love and passion. The cake buffet is sensational! The volunteers seem like a big family into which you are welcomed with open arms. I'm always happy to be here!

I spent a Qigong/meditation retreat weekend here and was absolutely thrilled. The rooms are furnished in a spartan manner (which is really good for a troubled mind after a short time of getting used to it), but very clean and well-kept furniture. The food is plentiful and very tasty and these incredible tarts and cakes, all lovingly made by hand, are absolutely AWESOME!!!The employees there are all volunteers, very friendly and accommodating.The entire building and the outdoor area are perfectly maintained.This weekend was like a rejuvenation treatment for body, mind and soul and I will definitely come back.

Very nice, rustic monastery.Simple rooms, the service is friendly, there is delicious food, and intolerances are catered for.Tip: Cake on Sunday, come early and it tastes great

Went there for coffee and cake during our bike tour. Delicious.Very nice environment.Only the service counter could perhaps be made more attractive, it reminds you more of an old canteen.But whatever, delicious cake instead 😀

Used this beautiful place as a stopover. We would be happy to come back again for a longer stay. Facility and house very well maintained. The volunteers were very welcoming and helpful. Even young people get involved, which is no longer a given these days. You have to try the cake.

We spontaneously took a short trip to Düsseldorf and chose this monastery as a place to stay overnight. We felt very comfortable there, everything was perfect, very relaxing. Everything there is done by volunteers. Craziness. Young people are also getting involved. Definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful and well-kept outdoor area.The room was simple and clean, unfortunately a very hard mattress (a matter of taste).Good price-performance ratio considering the early-lunch-evening buffet. Here too, simple but you will find what you are looking for. As far as the service (volunteers) is concerned, I would give 0 stars. You feel unwanted, you are looked down upon and as a guest you also have to notice how you and other guests are made fun of and gossiped about. The fact that the registrar also sits at the table and joins in the fun is a great hooray at the wedding ceremony. The next time you gossip, you should check whether the guests have closed their windows. All in all a nice and quiet place if these incidents hadn't happened. This is not okay at all and we should be ashamed of it.
