A super exaggerated hotel, known as a 4-star hotel!After staying for four nights, we were only given a bottle of water on the first day. On the second day, we were asked to go downstairs to buy water for 5 euros per bottle. It was so exaggerated that it was a disguised price increase!This hotel is very unfriendly to travelers staying for multiple days!Then the bedside light didn’t come on and I didn’t do anything about it!

This was my second time in this hotel, but probably the last time too. After 8 hours of driving, the wrong room category, the next room had a broken window. When eating breakfast, they have to “carry” cups, spoons, etc., everything themselves. This is just clearing away. When I checked out I had to wait a quarter of an hour for the bill. That's not how a star hotel works!

Overall not a great experience especially value for money. Generally hotel is dated. Breakfast for €35 is a joke - nothing of quality, limited options. Water doesn’t get topped up in the room, it’s such a basic service guys. And the gym…looks like they have been robbed of all equipment. Very few weights (see photo). To call it a gym is like saying the hotel is a cruise ship. I won’t be returning anytime soon.

Absolutely worst experience. Service is terrible. Instead of room with king size bed, i was given a room with two separate single beds put together. When I asked to change the room at reception they refused and could not do anything. They also charged 8 euros for a small bottle of water which in every other hotel is complimentary provided every morning.

The absolute worst check in experience. Room wasn’t ready which is ok but the front desk agent was so rude. I asked well can I use the spa while I wait? “No you need a key card for that.” Will you text me when the room is ready? “No I will not.” What exactly should I do? “”I don’t know.” She didn’t even suggest going to the restaurant, here’s a drink coupon. So unwelcoming. The check in is your first impression of a property and this place makes a really poor first impression. Maybe hire more professional people that smile and look you in the eye?

Stayed for a night after arriving from Singapore.Studio room was ok. Rather clean but very little amenities. We were group of 4 and needed a luggage trolley and help from a porter to manage 7 bags. But seems that this service is not provided. We disregarded all these unpleasant matters as were staying one night and tomorrow was onward journey to Budapest and Slovenia. And we have to return back to Munich to catch flight home. But really thinking of choosing another hotel for last 2 nights somewhere else other than Steigenberger.I was going to write another review as we are back to this hotel after 10 days visiting surrounding countries. And staying for 2 nights and attending Oktoberfest. In the 2 countries, They were courteous and always willing to help in Budapest and Slovenia. Courtesy and attitude for hospitality seems to be their trait.Back to Steigenberger after dinner on sept 21, at 11 pm. we told the reception staff that we were unhappy with the given room layout at room 522. After a long and somewhat defensive posture and impolite attitude of the 2 reception staff at this time, we really told ourselves we will never recommend anyone to stay here at all including ourselves. At the room we unpacked our luggages bit lighting was bad and we being senior citizens called reception many times to help us. Our calls were only answered at the 5th time but the same man at the reception earlier and just told us to use the master switch. We did that when we came and but we couldn’t figure out the lights. What irritates me is that he said he is only one at reception and can only go tomorrow to help us and slam the phone down !! Wow what a hotelier you have !! Doesn’t even come close to the attitude of the hard working housekeeper man Miles. He was helpful in the afternoon when we checked in. I found a luggage trolley and use it to haul our 7 bags For the group of 4 senior citizens. Miles saw us at the 5th floor and offered to help push the trolley and also help with the luggages. What a difference in attitude and the different in level of seniority between a housekeeping staff and a senior manager at reception. Sad to comment such things for a supposedly high standard hotel when the manager replies to the reviews. So is there anything that was done apart from answering the reviews ???

Hotel Not Returning Deposit Money Back!!!Adding on top of the previous review that the hotel is not returning close to EUR600 since the end of August. We stayed in the hotel for two days on the 30th of August - 1st of September, the hotel took a deposit equal to the amount of our stay and then we paid in cash at the checkout. The hotel promised to return “deposit” money back but guess what? We are close to the end of September, no one is willing to solve the problem, saying nothing about the amount of time wasted to reach out to the hotel.After 3+ emails and numerous calls the hotel messages that they can’t find the transaction and then again, guess what? Silence again !Never ever come back. And btw the hotel’s rooms are not clean at all, the staff at the restaurant during the breakfast is not welcoming as well. The cook frying the omelette after dropping the tomatoes to the dirty table, grabs them and adds back to the pan…. Really was not intended to mention all of this , but the hotel really urges me to write a review.

The hotel charged us money during check in for money to be “frozen” in our bank account on August 30th but still no one has reimbursed over 500 euros. And we paid during the check out, so we have been charged twice! No one answering emails and the account team is not in the office as what the reception says. Never come back !!UPD: The issue still not resolved. We are in the middle of September now and since then the money received for authorisation in the amount of more than EUR500 has not been returned! The hotel has only answered one out of three emails, highlighting that they do not have enough evidence of authorised money, without actually reading the email. I urge to solve this issue asap
