The guest house The Island is super central. The rooms are comfortably furnished and every morning there was a delicious breakfast served to us by Mr. Rhode with a nice smile. I'd rather not comment on Ms. Rhode here because that wouldn't be nice. Mr. Rhode is a very nice host and I hope it stays that way. Under the current circumstances I wouldn't go there again.

Family-run guesthouse in a good city and beach location in Westerland. Cozy room. Everything was spotlessly clean. Very personal welcome from Mr. Rohde. Active support with the 'luggage transfer' to the upper floor!Nice breakfast room.Breakfast, everything was sufficient.We felt very comfortable here.Thank you and very happy again.

Spotlessly clean room. Equipment is appropriate for the price segment. The rooms are not modern, but very comfortable. Very nice, small breakfast room. Here you are still served by the operators themselves. There is a very friendly personal atmosphere.

I decided at short notice in late 2021 to go to Sylt for the first time... and while looking for affordable accommodation I came across the guesthouse 'Die Insel' by chance... and what can I say: it was an absolute hit Direct hit!!!! I was thrilled by the family atmosphere - with the delicious breakfast included, I was able to chat with the friendly guesthouse owners every morning, which is always very important for me to start the day positively. The rooms have a wonderful atmosphere, I felt super comfortable right from the start!!! What's more, the guest house is located very close to the beach and after 5 minutes you are in the center... and for an unbeatable price!!! I'll definitely be back in 'The Island' the next time I visit Sylt!!!!

Unfortunately there was no stay. We had to cancel our trip due to Corona and were treated neither nicely nor even remotely appropriately on the phone, rather disrespectfully. We were harassed on the phone and rudely pressured into doing something. There was a complete lack of understanding of our situation. After I pointed out to the landlord how uncomfortable I felt as a customer in the situation, I unfortunately received nothing other than a thank you and a best regard. There was also a lack of customer understanding and customer friendliness. This was very disappointing and we cannot recommend the guesthouse. I can't make any statements about the accommodation itself.

We have been spending very pleasant days in this quiet house for more than 10 years. Relaxed atmosphere, perfect location to the beach but also to the pedestrian zone.
