Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hotel for the following reasons. When we arrived, there were several clumps of hair mixed with dust and other particles on the floor in the bathroom. I disposed of the first two myself, and we left the third because my husband said we could expect a clean room. I suspect that the cleaning staff missed these when changing the trash bags, as they were all within reach of the small trash can. There was residue on the floor of the walk-in shower, probably from creams/gels and small scraps of probably tissues or something similar. There were small piles of dirt on the bedroom floor (presumably made from shoe treads). When we arrived the ventilation was running continuously. A sign indicated that in this case you should open the windows and ventilate. We did that, which meant that we had smoke from the two smokers right next door and another smoker in our room the entire night. When we closed the window, the ventilation immediately came on again, so the window was opened again and the cigarette smoke came back in. Since our arrival - as discussed over the phone - only took place at 9:40 p.m., but the check-in lasted until after 10 p.m. (the inn's closing time) (there was a problem with another guest), we were no longer contacted that same evening possible. In the end, neither of us slept the entire night because the smoke in the room bothered us massively and the ventilation - as an alternative to cigarette smoke - was too loud. The next morning we were completely clear. We then talked to reception (the problem with the ventilation is known) because we didn't want to pay the full price (€110 without breakfast) given these deficiencies. The lady, who didn't want to tell us her name, then went to get the owner. He immediately assumed, without even listening to us, that we were making the whole thing up because we had asked for a discount when we booked. It is correct that we asked the owner for a discount when we booked, as it was already known that we would not be checking in until very late in the evening and that we would have to go back to an event as soon as we got up tomorrow, so we would hardly use the room would. However, this demand has nothing to do with the defects found. The boss then left us without having done anything and went back to the kitchen. The way the owner treated us is absolutely unacceptable to us. That's not how you treat guests. We also do not assume that the owner intended that, despite requesting a booking without breakfast, we received a booking confirmation with breakfast at a higher price due to the event. Another woman should then check on the remaining clump of hair. Since the hotel is not in the inn, but on the other side of the street and we had to go to the event - as discussed by phone when booking - we paid the full price because we couldn't wait any longer. We assumed that the hotel would contact us again afterwards; clumps of hair and piles of dirt were still there when we left the room, which unfortunately wasn't the case. Since we really tried to have a dialogue on site and there were legitimate deficiencies, but there was no response, we feel compelled to reflect our experience here in writing.
