Strandhof Holnis

Everything was wonderful again. The holiday farm is beautifully situated, the beach with promenade is within walking distance. The owners are super friendly and try very hard to ensure you have a great holiday. In addition to free-roaming chickens and geese, there are goats, sheep, rabbits and ponies on which you can go on a guided ride with the children for little money. The holiday apartment has everything you need. We'd love to come back.

Very spacious apartment, very well equipped and imaginatively furnished. Quiet and yet very close to the beach and the nature reserve. Very friendly landlord! We'll definitely be back!

We spent a long weekend out of season at Strandhof Holnis. We felt very comfortable and welcome. Everything was super uncomplicated and flexible. Totally nice host family. Added to this is the location, which is a dream.Thanks to our horse experience, we were able to take the pony out of the paddock/stable on our own responsibility, clean it and ride our daughter, for example we went on a guided ride to the beach.Our daughter has a great love for Columbus (ponies) and we will definitely come back again!Tip: pack slippers. The accommodation was cold to the feet, which is of course due to the time of year.

A nice place to have peace and quiet from the big city. Just enjoy a time without media and internet. The beach is within walking distance. The shallow water is ideal for holidays with children. This week 2 goats were born and a special rooster was added. A warm, family atmosphere. Good fishing opportunities. We were even able to observe the northern lights. Gladly again.

We've been to you on vacation several times, and I think we've seen every holiday apartment before! Out of pure curiosity and because we're already at least mentally planning next year's vacation, I read through the reviews! And what can I say?? I can fully understand the 5 star reviews and give them with full conviction!!! I absolutely cannot understand the less good reviews, some of which are described in great detail, and they tend to make you shake your head!!We have always found the family, including their children, to be very hospitable, helpful and friendly! We always strive to ensure that all guests on the farm have a wonderful holiday!! We and our children were able to use everything on the farm in both the high and low season!! We are convinced by the farm, the apartments, the hosts, the fantastic location and the beautiful landscape!! We will continue to be repeat offenders and will definitely come back!!

We booked a 2-week vacation at Strandhof Holnis in August 2023 (2 adults, 3 children). The location of the farm is beautiful, the beach is within walking distance.  But that's about it for the positive things I can say about the accommodation.We had booked the Seestern apartment. This is designated for 4 people, since we also have a child who sleeps in a baby bed, I asked whether the apartment was also suitable for 5 people, this was confirmed, so I chose the apartment. However, it turns out that in this apartment you can't even sit five people at the table. One person had to sit at the front of the table, but the front has a continuous board, so someone always had to sit across the table. And even so, in my opinion the apartment is too small for 5 people. The children's room is a connecting room to the bathroom and bedroom, which also turns out to be rather inconvenient. (Toi flush very loud)Overall, the apartment seemed damp and musty to us. When you went to bed you had the feeling that the bed was clammy, a bit like camping but without a tent. The cleaning of the apartment also didn't convince us.The kitchen is small and lacks almost everything you need. A dishwasher is missing, but this was not specified. The sink is recessed at an angle in the corner and therefore has an unfavorable washing distance, especially since there is also a small step in the floor. There were 4 cups for 5 people, some cutlery was broken. A bread basket and pot holders are missing, as well as trivets and certainly much more.One chair was broken, so it looked more like a deck chair than a dining table chair.The toilet smelled unpleasantly of urine and all our attempts to clean it didn't change that. It probably just needs to be replaced.The designated play area is very dirty overall and completely covered in swallow droppings. Many of the toys and vehicles are broken. The chickens run through the sandbox, so there is plenty of droppings there too. Seating areas for parents are dirty, mossy or overgrown with nettles. From what I saw, the rabbits' hutch wasn't cleaned once in two weeks.Last but not least, there are 3 dogs on the farm, 2 of which are very large. I asked the owner if they were running around freely in the yard. He denied this, but said he couldn't guarantee it because his children might forget to close the door. For us, this meant that we could never send the two big children out to play alone because there was no guarantee that the dogs would show up. When asked that the dogs were not mentioned, the owner then said that they were private but it must also be ensured that they remain private. We had 4 encounters during our stay and other guests had more. If I had known about the existence of the dogs on the farm, I would not have booked the accommodation.We ended up leaving two days early, after which we were approached by the owners. I then said exactly what was bothering us. They then said that we should have said this earlier, that they had tried to clean things up. This might have worked for one thing or another, but it doesn't change the fundamental things that I think are wrong with this property. She would have wanted to clean it, but this is not possible given its size and with all of our luggage in it.It gives me the impression that the accommodation is past its best and that you urgently need to spend money to renovate it. However, my impression is that the family is more concerned with organizing their own free time than with keeping order on the farm.

Our expectations were clearly exceeded! Strandhof Holnis is a perfect place to vacation and feel comfortable with children of all ages. The hosts are very uncomplicated, always available, very attentive and friendly. Our highlights:- a huge play barn with plateaus in the straw, a very large area for rides with Kettcar etc., table tennis table- Beach rides with the ponies! At a very fair, affordable price- Rabbits fed dandelions, carrots, etc- an adventure playground with nice seating for parentsThe best thing: bed linen, towels and final cleaning are included in the priceAll in all, an absolute recommendation!

A very friendly and family-friendly farm. We were there for a week and the 4 of us had a lot of fun feeding the animals or playing, whether on the farm or in the barn. Pony riding on the beach was the absolute highlight for the two children. The location is super nice and In just a few minutes you are at the wonderful Baltic Sea. Despite the fact that it was already autumn, we were very happy with the weather. We'll definitely come again at another time of year in the summer and then you'll definitely be able to swim in the Baltic Sea
