Have stayed at the hotel before, and also had our dog (less allergy-friendly dog, cairn terrier) with us without any problems. This time we saw an offer on Hotels.com where we could book 5 days in a Suite / Pool side, where we also had our daughter living at home with us (adult), as there was an additional room/room with a double bed. It just turned out to be a hard uncomfortable fold-out sofa that doesn't come close to comfort. We did segmentation on "Dog friendly", "Breakfast included" and "Pool". Hotels des Norden came up, so we booked, wrote that we were bringing our dog and that was it! We checked in, we walked our dog 3-4 times a day and passed the front desk each time, but on the 4th day of a day trip, we came home to our suite late at night and were greeted with a note our room - and we had to contact reception immediately. It was late and we had to go to bed and check out the following morning, so we waited to contact reception even on the morning we checked out. To our surprise they announced - on the last day and when we checked out that dogs were not allowed and that we would now have to pay for EXTREME cleaning! Well, hardly a more thorough cleaning than what met us - or others at the hotel, where rooms are more or less run-down and not renovated since 1984, stains on sofas, long-pile carpets, etc.? You enter a time machine. Well, we usually pay for the dog to stay the night, so we happily paid EUR 50 for her week's stay, but the suspicion that was distributed at the reception, the unfriendliness that is solely due to Hotel des Norden and/or Hotels.com would be fine book despite the fact that we always travel with our dog was informed - and otherwise check their off. website that it did NOT say that dogs were not allowed. We had done our preliminary work. The kind of unpleasant treatment you have to look for for a long time - and will of course stick around for many, many years. Their prices for the buffet EUR 39 are pure robbery....and we also chose to eat dinner "out in town" for the rest of the week. Brazen and pure theft in broad daylight. The place is outdated, worn, had its heyday in the mid 80s. Their receptionist is distinctly unpleasant and very unfriendly. There was so much that had gone wrong - and I can understand from other reviews that our experience is not alone. Your information is not up to date - and it really doesn't matter either. Even their newly installed EV chargers are not listed - and more and more hotels are choosing whether they can charge their electric car on site. In short - we have been there many times before, but this time - both experience means that we will never set foot - or put our money on the place again. Very unpleasant experience and will _NEVER_ recommend anyone to use Hotel des Nordens unless you are really pressed for an overnight stay. Never again!

Nice accommodation, for short holidays. An older hotel with continuous renovation, but not top modern like new hotels. Nice and clean and really friendly staff, which is probably the hotel's biggest plus. …

Was away in the autumn holidays, we had booked 2 rooms with 4 in each. At check-in. Could the receptionist only see that we had booked 2 people in each room even though it was a room for 4 people. She became very rude when I said it was 4 people per room I had booked. She said that for the price I had paid, only I could understand that it did not cover more than 8 people. By that time the queue behind me had grown to 12 to 14 people. Who could follow along in this farce. I found my order confirmation as well as an invoice where it appeared that I had booked 2 family rooms for 8 people. Then it turned out that it was strange but nowel. We got keys and could finally move on. This step took about 20 minutes. We have been here quite a few times. However, this gull has never been treated before. Our stay actually started really poorly. So therefore 1 star for rude and condescending receptionist

Absolutely horrible experience. We must have arrived at The Adams Family hotel in Flensburg. Clearly paranoid bath master, completely baseless accusing us of trying to cheat him. …

Absolutely horrible experience. We must have arrived at The Adams Family hotel in Flensburg. Clearly paranoid bathmaster who accuses us, completely unfounded, of trying to cheat him. The staff in the restaurant seem to do their best to be as hostile and unwelcoming as possible. And I haven't even mentioned the crazy inflated prices for a dinner buffet that makes the meatballs from Ikea look like gourmet food. Spare yourselves this experience.

I had booked a room for my parents directly at reception and told them about my father's disability. My father is a wheelchair user and therefore needs extra space. He had huge problems in the bathroom. I had the door removed and that helped a lot, but he still couldn't really get into the shower. There is a really large handicap toilet missing somewhere in the hotel that can be used if you are a wheelchair user.Evening buffet Hmmm. I will never do it again. €39 for the buffet is overpriced for the selection there is. Yes, there is a lot to choose from, but everything is everyday without anything particularly good. The breakfast buffet is well worth it. Large buffet with everything we Danes like. The staff is super friendly and definitely my biggest plus for having to spend the night there

Beautiful hotel with a great SPA area.At first glance it seems old, outdated. Then you are warmly welcomed, everything is explained and you were basically “picked up”. The second look/impression is: "quite a lot of money for the standard".But here it comes!Top-notch restaurant, great swimming area, great sauna area and a first-class breakfast :)We'll be back!!

From the outside, the hotel doesn't look inviting, and our comfort room is also in a building that looks a bit shabby, but.... what a lovely restaurant, and the food was really good, the room was top modern, a lovely stay
