Our stay at the Hotel de Rome was exceptional for many reasons. Exceptional enough to compel me to leave a review, which I never do.Every inch of the hotel is in immaculate condition. Every corner has been attended to. There is no mildew on the carpets. There is no dust behind the beds. The pool water feels so fresh that you could drink it. And the pool room smells clean instead of like bleach or feet. There is also a rhythm to the service here. Management pays close attention. For example, I would go down to breakfast (which is excellent) and come back to my room having been cleaned. I would come home from work and notice that they not only did their evening turn down service, but also left the window open like I preferred. Of course, they were noticing my schedule but I never felt watched – just seen. The staff is at the top of their game here. Multiple staff greeted my by name. At some point, I felt a little guilty that I didn’t remember their names. That is how comfortable they made me.Astrid the bartender in the restaurant took very special care of us. We were in Berlin on business so we would come back to the hotel late, sometimes right before closing. We are a big unruly group. She really crushed it. She made delicious drinks. She also begged the kitchen to stay open a little longer on our behalf (the food is great, too). Astrid also gave some KILLER nightlife suggestions that we would not have sorted without her. Thank you, Astrid! I hope management appreciates her talents.Hotel de Rome has earned a lifetime customer. When I’m in Berlin, I’ll be staying there.

The hotel is beautiful and in a central location. The rooms are beautifully appointed. The staff could not be nicer, in particular, Jacopo and Mirko. I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody traveling, who wants a comfortable and luxurious place to stay.

Not one thing you could place your finger on but the overall experience is poor. Breakfast is expensive for what is offered. No toast machine, poor fruit selection, self service coffee machine. …

First of all: I cannot provide any information about rooms and their furnishings. This review refers solely to the afternoon tea in the house. There were three of us and we reserved in advance. The afternoon tea at the Hotel de Rome was recommended to us by friends. When we arrived we were greeted warmly, our coats were taken from us and we were explained - while still standing - about the procedure. We were then assigned a table, or rather a seating area. This is not a classic table. It's more of a seating area with a low table and sofa, like you'd find in a foyer. We then had to move the sofa closer to the small table so that we could reach the tea and the cake stands later. The table is simply set: a small tea light, decorative vase, and a placemat on which a plate, cup, napkin and the afternoon tea menu from chef Patesier Osman Mutlu are arranged. The tea selection menu is extensive. The Hotel de Rome offers around 30 teas (black, green, white and herbal) - there is something for every taste. The tea comes in a simple white porcelain teapot - somewhat unusual. I am used to other 5-star hotels such as the Ritz and Lanesborough in London, the Regent in Berlin and even Harrods (London) that the tea is served in a silver pot. The exception so far has been Claridge's, but the pot is appropriate there. 🙂The rest of the porcelain (plates, cups) is also very simple - it could also be served in a hospital or retirement home. For comparison: In the Regent Berlin and at Ladurée in the KaDeWe, the tea is served in Bernardaud porcelain (if you know you know) from a silver pot.Speaking of being served: the tea is brought and placed on the table. In other houses of this class, the service staff opens the tea ceremony by pouring the tea for the first time. A jug of milk is obviously not standard, we had to specifically ask for it. This was initially forgotten, but after a brief reminder it was promptly served. The handle of a tea strainer was missing, so it was uncomfortable to remove it later without scalding your fingers. The etageres with a selection of savouries, petit fours and the slightly warm scones with clotted cream, jam and jam are tastefully arranged and a delight. Only the small selection of savouries (3 sandwiches per person) is a shame. The question of whether it would be possible to order sandwiches could not be answered straight away - the service wanted to inquire. Apparently the service forgot about it - at least we didn't hear anything else. The interior design is a mix of classicism, art deco and modernism. In the middle of the room there is a table with a selection of cakes. Overall, the interior seems surprisingly cold, uninviting and not harmonious, although the room itself definitely has the potential. In the end we were given the remaining petit fours in cheap take-away boxes and the coats were simply handed over in a wild heap. They didn't even ask if you could help get into the coat.CONCLUSION✅ The arrangements by chef Patesier Osman Mutlu should be positively highlighted. The live piano was also very pleasant and an enrichment.❌ Overall, the afternoon tea at the Hotel de Rome in Berlin lacks attention to detail on so many levels (table arrangement, seating, porcelain). The service also seems uncoordinated and not worthy of a 5-star hotel in terms of attention and professionalism. The price-performance ratio (€85 with a glass of champagne) is therefore not appropriate. Compared to other afternoon teas, the experience at Hotel de Rome is only disappointment! Therefore, we unfortunately cannot recommend afternoon tea in this establishment.

We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful hotel the beginning of October. We were amazed at the great service from checkin staff to bellman. There were a couple people that were above great in their service David Sihle-Wiesel concierge was incredibly helpful for a number of things. Solved many problems If only all concierge’s were like David. In the dining room Lidde was knowledgeable and helpful in helping us to stay at the Amigo in Brussels as she used to work there Also Fauk Striesow in the dining room Chef Tournant. Who was so welcoming every day and made sure everything was going right. Congratulations to the manager on hiring great people who make the true difference of a hotel stay.

We had a wonderful evening on the roof terrace with a group of six people. Special praise goes to the entire rooftop service team for the attentive service and of course the unique location.

We've been wanting to treat ourselves to a drink on the roof terrace for a long time. We were the first guests when it opened at 3 p.m. The view and the ambience are simply fantastic. Snacks were served straight away (olives and salted almonds), which were fantastic. We each ordered a long drink with gin (€18 each). The waitress put the drinks on a tray on the table and left. A short time later the man came back and apologized, saying he was new.The drinks were excellent.

The Rocco Forte hotels clearly pride themselves on their customer service and it shows. From the moment you step out of your car they have a seemingly genuine interest in making your stay memorable. Everyone is remarkably friendly and goes above and beyond to make the stay comforting and easy. Lisa at the front desk was amazing; greeting us everyday with a smile, remembering our names, and helping us with dinner reservations and checking with us throughout the stay. Food at CHIARO was stellar. Truffle Parmesan pasta made tableside was next level delicious and the staff clearly work hard to execute the delivery. Overall highly recommend Hotel de Rome, the restaurant and their staff and Lisa at the front desk. Sad to be leaving!

Impeccable! Ownership clearly adheres to the “pay attention to detail” philosophy. From the flowers in the lobby, to the rooms / bathrooms, the thoughtfulness that went into every aspect of the property is evident.  …
