Absolutely amazing hotel. Old walls have been lovingly restored and brought into modern times. We had booked 2 nights Bike + Hike and had a very nice welcome. The offer also included a multi-course dinner and an originally filled picnic backpack. Everything is great! We were already expected in the restaurant in the evening and shown to the reserved table. You got the feeling that everyone already knew you. Highly recommended, thank you very much!

My wife and I wanted a unique trip through the Black Forest so we stayed in three very different hotels in three different towns. 1280 Krone was the last of the three hotels, and the best of them. The rooms are HUGE and beautifully rough and rugged but with all the modern conveniences you should expect, and the bed was superbly soft and comfortable. Yes, the open bathroom concept is a little disconcerting if you need a "moment of privacy", but that just means your partner/family can go outside to enjoy the awesome 4-level deck or downstairs to the underground bar.The only negative we could give is for the town itself, which is small but surprisingly noisy at night. Luckily, the hotel's windows seal out the noise quite well; unluckily, it was quite warm that night so we had to leave the windows open as there was no air conditioning. We knew this ahead of time and brought a fan. On the plus-side, the Edeka grocery store just a few blocks away is BY FAR the best we have ever seen. The service and staff were all outstanding, and they were excited to answer our questions about the building's history and renovations. I would not have expected a 740-year-old building to be so warm and welcoming, but it absolutely hit the mark for us on our holiday.

I only review the hotel's own restaurant Agatha. I was there for the first time. The restaurant is open on Mondays and Tuesdays. On the other days the restaurant is open at Hecht. The service is very friendly, attentive and accommodating. There is a small but fine selection of dishes. We got bread and a delicious spread from the kitchen in advance. I chose two dishes. We shared a selection of cheeses for dessert. Everything was delicious. The kitchen, like in Hecht, is fantastic. The ambience is quiet and invites you to linger. The crown was renovated with a lot of effort and attention to detail and has become a jewel for the city center of Geisingen. It's worth coming there once.

While passing through the region, we stayed at the 1280 Krone hotel. We were enchanted by this place steeped in history... very beautiful hotel, superbly renovated with great taste: the mixture of modernity of materials in an old building makes it an exceptional place. The welcome at reception was great, the lady explained everything to us and accompanied us to our room 👍We had a signature room, it was large and very clean. We will come back for sure!

We booked the roof suite. It is furnished in a very original way.|As the outside temperatures became cooler, the temperature in the attic was pleasant. …

Just got back from an overnight stay at the 1280 Krone and felt compelled to write this review. It is a stellar hotel! For anyone travelling in the Lake Constance/Black Forest area, you won't find a more beautifully renovated example of local history.Nothing has been overlooked in bringing this building to it's current state. It is stunning in every facet - tasteful, luxurious, full of respectful nods to it's history with a lot of clever re-use of original materials salvaged during the renovation process. This is a must see for anyone interested in architecture, design as well as for people who appreciate good taste. The staff were uniformly lovely and understandably proud of their facility.I cannot recommend this strongly enough. It's perfectly located between the Black Forest and Lake Constance. If either of these places are part of your travel plans, give Hotel 1280 Krone a try. You'll bring home some special memories.

The Boutique Hotel 1280 Krone is undoubtedly an interesting project. However, it seems that the abundance of design elements comes at the expense of guest comfort. The most problematic aspect is likely the toilet, located approximately 3 meters from the head of the bed, behind an open mirrored partition, and the malfunctioning air conditioning. During the tropical summer nights in August 2024, the room temperature reached nearly 30°C (86°F), which is far from conducive to a good night’s sleep. I won't even mention the sink right next to the bed.Additionally, the restaurant’s operating hours are peculiar, as it closes its kitchen before 9 PM, leaving guests without dining options in the evening. Unfortunately, even the friendly staff cannot compensate for these shortcomings.
