A small but nice owner-managed hotel. Really very friendly service and in a quiet location. For the small price of breakfast there was a full, large breakfast buffet. The only small drawback was that the room was a bit noisy compared to the neighboring rooms. But I'll be happy to come back when I get the chance

One star is too much.Terrible owner. Terrible apartment. Terrible experience. Terrible attitude. Terrible rules. We literally checked-out 2 days earlier to get out of this nightmare.I have never seen a more stingy and rude owner in my life. Not only did she cheat her way into the booking (bamboozling my wife into taking the apartment when she was still just inquiring about the booking and cancellation policy)....not only were the house rules shared AFTER the confirmed booking...the house 'rules' were completely arbitrary and random. I have never seen anything like it in my life.In addition, she was extremely rude to my parents who were visiting their 2 grandchildren....she constantly spies on the guests...she forbade meeting the grandparents with the grandkids in the apartment for 2 hours a day since 'it is not allowed in the rules'. And she has a pathological obsession with sand. Not normal. Avoid at all costs.

Very rude, inflexible and inhospitable host who clearly chose the wrong profession. The house rules for the apartments are ridiculous. …

Excellent welcome. Nickel. Delicious and generous breakfasts. Quiet, close to public transport, a city bike station... It was our means of transport during our stay and we really enjoyed it! We highly recommend this address.

I can only advise all travelers to read the bad reviews, they also correspond to our experiences. The idea of service is interpreted very specifically by the boss.We left after one night.

I have been to this beautiful guesthouse many times. Ms. Berger is very friendly and warm. The guesthouse is a very nice family business, I feel very comfortable there every time! Since I have already had longer clinic appointments and had to stay for several weeks, I am incredibly grateful that I was able to stay with Ms. Berger again and again and that she kept “my” room free for me for so long. I was able to gain strength and relax. The rooms are totally cozy and beautiful, the garden is an oasis of relaxation in warm times.Everything is lovingly furnished. The breakfast is a dream, with fresh eastern salad, home-baked bread, etc. No wish remains unfulfilled.I feel very, very comfortable and can only recommend this guesthouse. It is in a quiet location and you can walk into town and the clinic. Here I can concentrate on my recovery and I absolutely cannot understand the bad criticism here!! There are few hotels that are run with so much passion. For health reasons I have to go to Heidelberg more often and I am very grateful to Ms. Berger that I always get a room.Thank you very much, dear Ms. Berger, also for the good discussions.I like to come back again and again, even without clinic appointments.Go on like that!Best regardsBrittaPS: I would have liked to give more stars.

Never again!!! Definitely read!-family unfriendly-no accommodating-not everything as described in the adWe (my wife, I and our 3-year-old daughter) rented an apartment at the Hotel Berger for 14 days because our smaller daughter had heart surgery in Heidelberg.Since she was ill before the operation, we had to postpone twice and paid “cancellation costs” of €600.00 - okay, it was also postponed spontaneously. The advert for the apartment shows a dishwasher, as well as a washing machine and dryer for a fee. When I arrived, the owner told me that the dishwasher was broken but would be repaired. During the entire stay it didn't work and we washed everything by hand. I asked about using the washing machine three times, but they never took the time to explain it to me because I seemed too stupid to use a washing machine (it was in the basement - the owner lives in the house). The bathroom smelled so bad of a drain that you had to keep the windows open to endure it.From the third day onwards there was a note hanging on the entrance door, of which I have attached a photo, because we supposedly carried sand into the stairwell. I was warned again by email because this would damage the marble floor. When our little one was transferred from the intensive care unit to the normal ward, my wife and I were both in the hospital, so the in-laws with children were in the apartment with our older daughter to look after her. That evening I received a nasty message from the owner saying that this was against the house rules, as no one was allowed to stay in the apartment who was not included in the booking. Absolutely ridiculous if I rent an apartment, I want to be able to go in and out freely and not have to be afraid that the owner is watching everything through the camera hanging on the door. Ultimately it cost €130.00 per night! Billing is based on the number of people staying in the apartment. Even though the 3 of us only slept there for 4 days (during the intensive care period), we paid for the entire time for all 3 of us.As mentioned, 14 nights were booked, after 9 nights we were able to leave the hospital and go straight home.We “gave away” 5 nights again, and of course we didn’t get a cent back. When I left I asked how they would accommodate me about the dishwasher, for example - nothing!!!Here money is made in an unsightly way from the suffering of sick people! It would have been better if I had read the reviews on Google before booking...We had to wait 6 days for the deposit of €300.00 we paid and asked 3 times by email what was going on with it.We had to pay the entire payment in cash upon arrival, which alone would have seemed strange to me.I don't recommend this accommodation to anyone!

The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from Heidelberg city center. A single room with breakfast per day costs around 100 euros. What I particularly liked was that the hotel is located on a side street to reduce traffic and the hotel itself is very quiet so you don't hear anything from other guests. Breakfast until 9:30 a.m.The ambience of the house: Art Nouveau villa, 10 rooms with new bathrooms, everything in the 80s style, nice owner. If you're looking for a cheap, no-frills hotel and like it quiet, this is the place for you.
