We went there for dinner 3 days ago, it was a gift.The service was nice and entertaining and the ambience is not the fault of the criticism either. We also wanted to give the restaurant a second chance.Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the food for the second time, but we didn't want to express this in the presence of our patrons.We have the impression that the kitchen is missing a good gravy boat.The sauce for the goose didn't taste like goose at all and was bland.The red wine sauce for the ox cheeks was indefinable and tasteless (possibly even containing glutamate, to which I unfortunately reacted with diarrhea).It's a shame, it used to be much better!

We stayed at the hotel in September for a conference. The rooms are spacious, somewhat noisy and clean.The food is also recommended. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent service and friendly staff.We'll be back in February.

About a year ago I rented a room for my birthday including food for about 25 people.1 month before we registered 5 more people over the phone. When we arrived, this call was forgotten and it had to be rebuilt, which isn't a problem, but we were literally accused of lying and otherwise we would have written down the name we used on the phone The tables were then rebuilt in annoyance.The waitresses were in a very bad mood the whole evening and we had the feeling that the boss was on top of his game. Unfortunately, it was a very bad experience overall.

Rooms, staff, kitchen and wellness are 5 stars.What didn't work at all was the charging station for electric cars, which is probably from Porsche (it's on it), is advertised as such on the hotel's website and, after entering the code, showed regular charging at the Opel. So you rely on it. The next morning we headed home and after checking the charge level on the way it was over in Altena. 20 instead of almost 300 km remaining range - so nothing charged at all. An unscheduled 50 KWh stopover at the municipal utility...and wait. This worked without any problems at the charging station of another hotel the day before and the vehicle was also charged at the Altenaer Stadtwerke.What we also noticed negatively was the noise level of a company that celebrated outside until 3 a.m. Sleeping was difficult.The food was great, service, breakfast and reception couldn't be faulted. The wellness area: ultra-modern, clean and well-kept...rooms and outdoor facilities up to date. The minibar was filled with everything your heart could desire. But the highlight is the excellent cuisine and the fact that they reserved a table for us quite casually. That's 5 star service.There is a star deduction for the “Porsche” charging station and the tiredness.

Not the hotel I remember anymore.My family's "regular hotel": weddings, birthdays, etc. were celebrated here for years.Stayed here overnight after many years, after a class reunion.* Rooms are getting old (no blinds or push buttons didn't work)* I booked the room “Prince’s Suite”. Room looked bigger in the pictures online. Was it the suite we booked???* Breakfast buffet a bit monotonous (baked rolls, no special treats)*Breakfast room uncomfortable like in a train station hall, table not nicely set and no tablecloth* Butter was prepared on the table and was already dark yellow on the outside from standing for a long time* I forgot my t-shirt at the hotel. No notification from hotelIt's a shame that Holzrichter has become "different".

We stayed at the hotel for a short trip at the weekend. We were thrilled from second one. Just the walk to the hotel gives you that holiday feeling. The welcome was super friendly and we were escorted to our room. The room (Kronprinzenzimmer) was quite large, with a small balcony facing the greenery and a large bathroom with a whirlpool tub. The dinner was very, very tasty and we were also thrilled with the service there.The breakfast buffet was very, very good and plentiful.We had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back.

Poor service at the restaurant: I asked for bread with my starter and was answered there is potato in my plate (i.e. I don’t need and get bread!!!). I wanted to order the dessert at the beginning of the meal, am told to wait until the end of the meal. The dessert I wanted was no longer available, actually none of them which were on the menu were available.Rude waitering for breakfast.In the bedroom, the double bed is half prepared for single occupancy. They were beddings only on 50% of the bed, the other mattress was left without beddings which I didn’t find hygienic. The same thing happened to my other co-travellers.Despite the name of the hotel, it has nothing to do with any kind of historical château /Schloss. Modern buildings.

We were guests in the very nice and tranquil hotel for 5 nights. The room was very good, although we actually expected it to be a little larger based on the booking. But it had everything that was promised and we felt very comfortable in it. The castle hotel is a bit off the beaten path, but that's exactly what creates the ambience and peace. The included breakfast was excellent and had everything your heart could desire. The visit to the restaurant in the evening was impeccable and the food was absolutely top class, both in terms of presentation but also in the taste and quality of the regional products.The service and service were absolutely top class. Everything is very familiar, very warm and personal. We felt extremely comfortable all around. Many thanks to the whole family and the team. Your friendliness and service were TOP! Next time we're in the Hagen/Dortmund region again, we'll definitely stop by the Holzrichter again.

Nice hotel. However, the beds were very bad and sagging. We missed an option to make coffee/tea in the room. It was not really clear that there was a staircase in addition to an elevator. When we indicated this and wanted to leave a day earlier, we had to pay for the full 3 days. Very disappointed. It was a lot of money for us.However, the staff was extremely friendly. The restaurant was also great

I was at the restaurant with my family for dinner and called in advance because two of us are vegan. They assured me that they would conjure up something for us and we were not disappointed - starter, main course and dessert were vegan and of a really high standard! Since the kitchen doesn't use it often, the meat substitute was unfortunately a bit tough (hence a star deduction), but the taste, the composition - great! The service is of course also first class. Thank you!
