A chance discovery that more than exceeded our expectations. Really beautifully designed pitches with great attention to detail, electricity and a disposal station available. The operators are incredibly nice and the food in the attached restaurant was very tasty. We will be back definitely.

Beautiful motorhome parking space with modern sanitary facilities. V/E possible. Food in the adjacent hotel restaurant was very tasty. The boss and her staff were super friendly and helpful. Absolute recommendation. Gladly again

We dined, stayed and had breakfast here with 16 people as part of a family reunion after a long day in the Serengeti Park.Short conclusion:All family members were more than satisfied.The longer version:We received a very friendly welcome and immediately felt welcome. You can tell that the staff of this long-established family business not only do a job, but also want to give their guests a pleasant stay with joy and a lot of commitment.In addition to the not very extensive but completely sufficient main menu, there is also a seasonal menu with dishes made from ingredients available at the current time of year, for example various asparagus dishes in June.All of the dishes served were beautifully presented and extremely tasty, starting with the salad, schnitzel variations, fantastic fried potatoes and perfectly cooked asparagus right up to the dessert. The portions didn't leave anyone hungry.Of course we all sat at a long table. Unfortunately, we had a different experience last year in the Harz, despite the agreement, and were spread over four tables with 17 people, even though it would have been spatially possible.When we asked later in the evening how long we could have a drink, the short answer was "as long as you are there, there will be someone at the bar". There was a nice chat with the boss and her father until finally the hard core with the necessary bed weight visited the rooms.The room and bathroom were visually a journey back in time to the 70s and 80s, but they were functional and completely adequately equipped (including WiFi and flat screen TV). Just a typical country inn. For me, cleanliness is much more important than a modern ambience, and it was there without any restrictions. I've experienced this differently in more modernly furnished accommodations, hence a full five stars for the room.The mattresses on the beds were pleasantly firm and I could sleep well on them. The night's rest is not disturbed by traffic noise, traffic on the B3, which is about one kilometer away as the crow flies, is not noticeable, so you can sleep with the window open.It remains to be mentioned that the outdoor areas are perfectly maintained.Breakfast does not take place as a buffet, as is usual in many places, but at a fully set table, where there is a good variety of fresh rolls, sausage, cheese, eggs and spreads. There was nothing to complain about at breakfast either. Coffee and orange juice are standard. You are asked and if you want something else (tea, cocoa, cold drink, etc.) you get it straight away.A few reviewers have complained about the “unfriendly” manner of the old boss. Personally, I don't find this style to be unfriendly, I would rather describe it as rustic and original. Sure, you couldn't afford that in an upscale 3-star restaurant, but we're talking about a country inn in the heath. And so the Heidjers are of the old breed, they talk straight as they can, they sometimes say a rude thing and are certainly not angry if they get the same opposition, quite the opposite.Overall, our stay was a completely positive experience, so I can unreservedly recommend the Gasthof "Zum Becklinger Holz" for dinner or for a vacation/short break for anyone who likes good home cooking and doesn't need a fancy ambience.

We found out about this pitch via the internet and spent 6 days there over Pentecost.The parking space is now on our favorites list.From the reservation to the reception, the hospitality, the cleanliness, the peace... everything is just right here. The facility is absolutely well maintained and comfortable. A lot of work and hard work goes into it. Small conversations with the operators were very interesting and almost family-like. Our wishes were fulfilled.We felt very comfortable here and have already threatened to return again.
