Unfortunately, we didn't like the Martinshof, where we spent 14 days of our summer vacation. On the one hand, we didn't feel very welcome, and on the other hand, the offer advertised on the homepage hardly corresponds to reality. On the day of arrival no one was there to welcome us. We wandered around the yard for half an hour to find someone who would at least give us the key to our holiday apartment. But there was only the little son on the farm who told us that his mother was on vacation for a few days. We finally found our apartment on our own. The key was on the door and our name was written on a post-it note on the door. We have never been greeted so warmly upon arrival. In the evening the older farmer's wife gave us a short introduction, which essentially consisted of the correct separation of waste and a list of the bans on the farm. Even after the young farmer returned from her vacation, she didn't introduce herself to us or at least say hello properly. The farm did not offer its own program during the 14 days. The children could not drive a tractor, were not allowed to help milk cows or were invited to any other farm experience. We know this differently from many other farms. Maybe they would have been allowed if we had explicitly asked for it, but that no longer has anything to do with “we like to do something for our guests and actively invite you” (as it is presented on the homepage). Unfortunately, the farm does not offer the King's Card, which is predominantly available in the Allgäu and Upper Bavaria, with which you can visit a variety of attractions in the region free of charge or at a greatly reduced price. Here you only had the local guest card, with which you could travel on the bus for free. Due to the lack of farm offerings, you are practically forced to take a trip to the surrounding area every day so that the children don't get bored. The farm's own playground only consisted of a trampoline and a wooden horse. The children were not allowed to take the small animals advertised on the Internet out of their stable, which was much too small, in order to pet them or feed them. You were also not allowed to go to the chickens, sheep or goats. Here, too, the stables were very small and cramped and it seemed as if these animals were only kept so that they could advertise them on the Internet. We have seen this on other farms much more beautifully and with significantly more “animal welfare”.The parking spaces belonging to the holiday apartments were embedded in a football pitch (without a safety fence or similar to limit it) and the vehicle fleet for the children. Hard-hit leather balls flew at our car almost every evening. In addition, due to the lack of space, it was only a matter of time before the children's vehicles hit the cars parked there. We complained to the farmer's wife about it, but she didn't offer us a real parking alternative. I wouldn't drive there with expensive cars as there is a big risk of dents and scratches. The actual holiday apartment was clean and largely well-equipped, but we kept having bugs and silverfish in the kitchen. There should have been more places to hang towels in the bathroom and the dishes were already significantly reduced. The double bed for the parents was absolutely worn out. A new mattress is urgently needed here. In addition, the apartments are almost unbearably noisy. Through the old, uninsulated floorboards, you could hear every step from the neighboring apartment or the apartment above us as if someone was walking through your own room. Of course, this is an absolute disgrace, especially at night. All in all, in our opinion, the holiday farm is far too expensive given the price quoted and the “offer”.
