We recently had the pleasure of discovering the Gasthaus Hirschen on a week long trip through the Black Forest region of Germany. This family run hotel offers clean modern accommodation with superb views of the surrounding countryside and in the distance the alps. The real surprise was the restaurant, which we later discovered is well known in the area as one of the best. The food is simply delicious and the staff just so friendly and welcoming. They have some excellent beers on tap also!Parking is safe and right outside the hotel in its own car park. The beautiful medieval town of Villingen-Schwenningen is just 8km away and a bus stop right outside the hotel means you can hop on a bus and be there in 15 mins. Perfect if you fancy a night out on the town without having to take the car.We loved this hotel, and heartily recommend it.
