As has been written in many other reviews, the welcome from the hosts is quite impersonal.We made a mistake when ringing the bell and rang the doorbell for the older people living in the house (in-laws/parents?). They then showed us the correct bell. While we waited we chatted very nicely with them.Shortly afterwards a young girl came around the corner and handed us the keys.There was no mention of where we could have turned if we had any concerns.The rooms were relatively clean, only the usual places (sofa, seating area) needed to be vacuumed again.The furnishings are simple but overall okay. Cutlery is counted exactly and should be a little more.The stove and oven are relatively old and no longer seem to have proper performance. It took forever to heat up a mulled wine.The play opportunities for children are sufficient. There is a small playground, although the trampoline is a bit run down. And a small “vehicle fleet” that should have something for every child.We really enjoyed the opportunity that our daughter could be there while feeding the cows.All in all, it was a very nice holiday for us, but the hosts could have been more present and friendly.

We had a great, relaxing and very nice week on the Stechele farm. Everything is perfect, clean, cozy rooms, the yard is very well maintained and the view is a dream. There is no better way to spend a vacation. Once again a big thank you to the Stechele family and we'll be happy to come back.

Beautiful view, no matter which apartment you are in. The farm is on a hill, away from the main road, surrounded by meadows. There is fresh milk from our own cows and eggs from our own chickens, which you can also visit if you like. You can think what you want about it, I like the slight smell of the cows, the smell when the meadows are mowed - even the fresh milk smells and tastes different.If you sit on the bench in front of the door in the evening, you can enjoy a very beautiful sunset in silence.These are just a few reasons why I always enjoy vacationing here.Many greetings to the Stechele family

We had a very nice week at the Stechele farm. Since I only give 4 stars, I would like to describe the whole thing in a little more detail.We have been to the farm as a couple without children, so we can't say much about what is available for children, except that there is a playground near the house and some animals can be found on the farm.The apartment itself was spacious and adequate in terms of furnishings, although the furnishings were a bit dated. But as we all know, this is a matter of taste.Everything we needed was there and the room was clean upon arrival. The towels were replaced once during this time, which we really thought was great.What bothered us personally was that the four adjacent balconies of the holiday apartments have no visual separation. The balcony is not continuous, but the partitions are waist high. The evenings on the balcony with home-cooked food or a glass of wine are sometimes not so private. The view from the balcony is very beautiful!Contact with the hosts was somewhat inconsistent. I have to say that we were a bit irritated at the beginning. The greeting was not very warm and very short. During the course of the first day we had a small "argument" that wasn't really in the spirit of hospitality.After that, however, things became much friendlier and warmer. We received some tips for things to do and had a nice exchange with the family.The breakfast is rich, but not really varied. There are rolls and a selection of cold cuts, which vary slightly every day, as well as a small muesli bar. But if we were selling ourselves, we would have liked to have had an egg more often than once in seven days.The farm is perfectly located for hikes, bike tours and other activities. However, you also need either bicycles or a car. It's a long way from getting a connection to public transport. You can hear the nearby A7 mentioned in other reviews, but we never found it really annoying.Overall, it was a good stay, but there was still room for improvement in some areas.

Stayed there for a week. Had a small apartment with breakfast. Apartment was very nice, breakfast was plentiful, everything was there. The family was very nice and we felt very comfortable there.

It's a classic farm holiday. There are several small apartments for families with bread rolls or breakfast service. There is space to park bikes and charge batteries. The Wi-Fi is also fine and you can also get cheap drinks on the basis of trust. There are cats and chickens on site. In the cowStopping by is no problem either. A trampoline and go-karts are also available. In the apartments with kitchenettes you can easily cater for yourself. It's only a maximum of 5 minutes by car to Hopfen am See. The farm is exposed with beautiful views of the mountains. You can still afford the apartments as a family and the Stechele family is also very nice. Very suitable for families on a tight budget. We were absolutely not disappointed and would love it again. Many thanks to the Stechele family.

Very nice farm near Lake Hopfensee. The farm is in a secluded location on a hill with a beautiful view of the mountains. Surrounded by meadows you can watch deer in the morning and evening. There are cattle and chickens on the farm. The holiday apartment is very modern and fully equipped and very comfortable. There are play areas for children in the large garden.

In order to give a fair and objective assessment from our point of view, you have to break it down a bit:We were guests for a week and had an apartment with a view of the Alps. This location and this view are worth the 4* for us.The apartment is modernly equipped and nothing is missing. There was a bread roll service in the house and you could also buy drinks at fair prices.But we imagined a farm differently. There are cows, chickens, a guinea pig and a few cats. Overall, everything is a little old and participating in the everyday life of a farm life doesn't seem possible/desirable here. Due to the layout of the farm, it is not possible to get together with other guests during the day/evening. The play equipment (trampoline, slide, stilt house) is also set up at a safe distance from the farmhouse. It's a shame, because they're actually great gaming opportunities, but as already mentioned, personal contact doesn't seem to be as desirable.In the evening and at night you have to come to terms with the constant noise of the A7, which is about 400m away as the crow flies, but after a few days you can hardly hear it anymore.Otherwise, you can go on activities in many directions from here and have a great holiday... but we know a holiday on the farm to be completely different, especially for children.

Many thanks to the Stechele family for the wonderful 14 days on your farm. The apartment was, as always, extremely well maintained. The Stechele family is very nice and friendly. We have been going to the Stecheles as a family for seven years. It's great that they exist. If you think you've seen the Allgäu after seven trips, you're wrong. No matter what the weather is, you can always do something. If the weather is good, go hiking, canoeing, etc. If the weather is bad, swim or visit museums. A holiday on the farm means watching the feeding and the work on the farm. Don't confuse a farm with a petting zoo. Our girls have been very happy on the farm for years and are happy when we set off every year. You are a great family, young and old, always nice and friendly. Thank you for the wonderful time with you in 2019. Stay alive and well. See you in 2020. Until then, all the best. Many greetings from the Schiller family

The region is beautiful. We had a wonderful vacation. The greeting on arrival was nil. No greeting, we waited for 3 quarters of an hour until we rang the bell in the building next door and a little girl showed us the rooms. Even after that we weren't welcomed. Very unfriendly towards his guests. Departure was no different. No goodbyes. I wanted to pay for the holiday apartment and had to run after it. I've been going to Bavaria for 30 years. I've never experienced anything like this before.

The apartment and the price are completely okay, and the large one with play equipment is also great for children. Unfortunately, this holiday doesn't have much to do with “holidays on the farm”. You are only allowed to go into the stable to see the cows in the evening and feed the chickens. That was pretty much it. I didn't expect much, but at least that the children would be allowed to go into the chicken coop to get eggs or sit on the tractor or something like that. We would also have liked to help muck out the stable or feed the cows or anything else tackled. Even if you saw the farmer driving the tractor out of the stable, he ignored you. I personally found this a shame with children.Overall, we found the interaction more cold than cordial.When we rented bikes we were asked to please put them in the bike cellar, so far no one has shown us or told us that such a thing exists. There we also saw Kettcar and other rides and toys for children. Could we have been told earlier...?All in all, the vacation was great, but actually only because we did a lot.Holidays on the farm look different for me personally - I expect a little bit more.
