We were in the garden restaurant and had expected good meat dishes from a restaurant with a butcher shop.The garden restaurant was nice, but unfortunately the most beautiful and distant places were cordoned off, perhaps due to a lack of staff, which is now a problem almost everywhere in the catering industry. Okay, let's understand and just take the seats available.In the meantime, you can accept waiting times calmly and treat yourself to a good wine.What we were then served was just about acceptable for one dish, but unfortunately absolutely inedible for the other. We have never been served meat of such poor quality - one can no longer even speak of quality - in any other restaurant.Nevertheless - and despite the waiter's understanding and his recognition of the inedibility - the full price was charged. An outrage! Greed eats brains in this company. If we hadn't charged, we would have given the restaurant a second chance, but they absolutely failed and we rated them as not recommended.

We spontaneously stopped in for lunch after a trip and were very happy with our choice of restaurant.The food was excellent. The ingredients used were fresh and the dishes such as the mashed potatoes or the schnitzel were homemade. The quality of the meat, which comes directly from the in-house butcher, was exceptional.The service was very friendly and attentive. You can also visit the restaurant very well with children. High chairs and a map for children are available.The interior was very attractive, we felt very comfortable.You can park in the parking lot behind the hotel restaurant.

Were here last weekend and really enjoyed it 👍 Large parking lot behind the houses, great rooms, great beer garden. Ate here on the first evening. The entire crew is super nice and the food was just amazing 😋. It's only 5 minutes to the market square and it's not far to the archaeological park either. Absolute recommendation 👍

We were only in the garden restaurant with a small group. The food was very tasty, but only 2 tablespoons of Altbier sauce with the schnitzel... Unfortunately, the service was not on point. Used plates were only cleared away after 1 hour. And the question about new drinks took about 3/4 of an hour to arrive.

We cycled to Xanten as a day trip. Stopped here on recommendation and with the tipsters. Ate very tasty. We would love to come back if we come to Xanten again.

The food was tasty but there was little or no service. As an example, we arranged our own cutlery. The aperitif that was served with the meal was all we could get our hands on in terms of drinks. All in all not okay

Nice and clean rooms, but unfortunately without a coffee machine or kettle.As in many hotels, minibars have been abolished, but there was water. Technically well-equipped rooms.The breakfast was great with regional products and good service. The beer garden is very nice. The 3-course dinner was okay, but due to a lack of staff, the food didn't arrive until 2 hours later.The location is very central and you can explore everything on foot or take the small Nibelungen Express train. Xanten is definitely worth seeing.Solid 4 stars for the well-kept hotel. We say thank you.
