I received a very friendly welcome. All the staff at the youth hostel are very friendly and helpful. On October 3rd, I was the only guest who stayed in the youth hostel and was served a breakfast that left nothing to be desired. Everything from fresh rolls, a number of drinks and fruit as well as yoghurt and muesli was provided. To be honest, I hadn't expected that since I was the only one staying overnight in the barracks because of the holiday. The room was very nice and clean.I can recommend this youth hostel with a clear conscience and will happily visit it again!

The staff is very friendly and helpful. We and our family didn't notice anything disturbing from the groups because we were accommodated in a different wing. The house is a bit older, but the sanitary facilities were clean. We would stay there again. We would only like unsweetened oatmeal at the otherwise very tasty breakfast buffet.

Everything is very clean and the staff is really nice and helpful. The food is good and there is a table tennis table and a volleyball court. There's even a little bar!

We stayed in the youth hostel at Westensee for 7 days. And I have to say, we really liked it. The hostel mother and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was missing, good service, clean rooms and great food. The kitchen in particular always managed to surprise us. From potato salad to pork medallions and a breakfast buffet every morning. Simply delicious. Of course, a youth hostel isn't a hotel, and shared showers aren't for everyone, but it's not that bad. The only thing you look for in vain is a bike rental near the youth hostel, which was a shame. Around the Westensee, it is not only possible to hike or swim, the area has well-developed cycle routes from Kiel to Flensburg, from Rendsburg to Plön. Just beautiful.

Stayed from July 30th to August 1st, 2024 in a four-bed room as a family, in the family hallway.Since it was a cycling holiday, we had a lot of km in our legs...which is a real shame that the nearest supermarket for supplies is 5km away and then there's Edeka, which isn't always cost-effective either.What was very disappointing and also an exclusion criterion for the future was that we couldn't sleep properly on the first or second night. There was a group of children of different ages quartered under us who were jumping around loudly in the room until 12:00 a.m. at times Doors were shouting, doors were slamming and there was no intervention on the part of the carers.Two boys who had come with their father ran around in our family hallway for 2 hours, always trampling, slamming doors and playing catch, their father was nowhere to be found.We had orthopedics with us, but they didn't help much.It's a shame...This will no longer be our goal.

Went there for 3 nights with the grandchildren, 12 and 7 years old, and would love to come back! Warm and friendly welcome, excellent service for a JHB and staff who want to fulfill all your wishes! Well, the rooms are a bit shabby, but you know that when you book a JHB. My respect also to the supervisors of the children's groups on site!!! Finally teachers who value decency and respect for children. Without any fuss, problems were discussed, consequences were expressed and everything was done in the background. No disruption to the processes for JHB staff or other guests!Conclusion: THANK YOU! IT WAS VERY BEAUTIFUL IN WESTENSEE!!!!

Our child had to sleep in bed linen that had brown stains on it. According to our child, the showers were moldy. After a week of school trip, she comes home with an itchy rash all over her body. Open electrical cables on the wall of the bed. Canteen staff very unfriendly to the children. Toilets were locked overnight so the children couldn't go to the toilet. I'm really speechless and we'll definitely talk to the teachers about it. The only thing that was okay was the breakfast and tea. Seats in front of the house defecated by nesting birds. Earth wasp nest... I think where children are, you should be more careful with something like that.

The youth hostel at Westensee was ideal accommodation for our school orchestra. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was pleasantly familiar. The facilities were clean. The location on Lake Westensee offered great opportunities for walks and leisure activities. Overall, it was a successful stay that we would be happy to repeat and recommend.

We were there over the weekend,Our children were not allowed to eat pizza on the terrace, even though there was seating there, so they would have to eat on the side of the road. My husband had to go out onto the street with his beer to drink it, as this is also forbidden on the premises and in the parking lot. No drinking!!!Just 1 beer.The hostel mother is beyond unfriendly and no one would ever, ever, ever get us there again. Despite the presence of a fireplace, you were not allowed to have a campfire. So disappointing!!!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently there was no vacuum cleaner and there was mold!!!!!! Weird smell!!!!!! The hostel mother is apparently out of this world!!!!!!Children are totally disappointed!!!!!Please send the control authority there!!!!!We will report these conditions to the office and demand our money back!! !!!!!It couldn't be worse!!!!!!

We were very disappointed this time. Before Corona, we were there every year with our youth groups. Every now and then the hostel mother and the staff were rather unfriendly, but the beautiful location made up for it. We often built campfires and ended the evenings that way. We wanted to do this again this time, but unfortunately it wasn't possible. The employee was unfriendly, disorganized and disrespectful towards our team members. We are not allowed to light a fire in the designated fireplace and without a sensible reason. We were threatened with the police and fire department. There was loud and unobjective discussion in front of the young people.The organization was very bad, we only got one room even though we booked two. There were no trash cans in the rooms and the doors in the girls' toilets for sanitary napkins etc. were empty all weekend. Additionally, the volleyball court had no net. Our young people and we found this a great shame. The only thing that was great was the food. There was also a good alternative for vegetarians.Overall, we are disappointed and will no longer visit or recommend this youth hostel
