Here you can find the best Kaiserschmarren around Garmisch Partenkirchen. The staff is very friendly. The price is completely okay. You have to be lucky to get a seat as there aren't many seating options.

Naturally beautiful location, but the gastronomy is subpar.Prices like in an upscale restaurant and all ingredients from the can or the freezer.Our spinach dumplings tasted like cardboard and had probably been under the warming lamp for 1-2 hours.We've really never had it this bad

Unfortunately, the hut didn't meet our expectations at all; after a short inspection, the horror was great! The house is modern and beautiful. On the whole, the sanitary facilities and rooms are clean. The showers don't work at all! A beastly smell that makes showering impossible. (Problems with the sewage treatment plant?) What we only noticed later; this smell also moves into the bedrooms...The food wasn't good at all, ready-made food with no taste and at 39 EUR (half board) it was way too expensive! Drinks also expensive. By then we knew we wouldn't stay the second night.Unfortunately, breakfast was also a tragedy! We won't be coming back!PS, in such a modern hut with a high number of customers (because alternative) card payment is not possible...

The Höllentalangerhütte is undoubtedly beautifully situated and offers impressive views of the surrounding mountains. The hut itself is modern and well-equipped - at first glance it seems to be an ideal starting point for hikes and mountain tours. But despite these positive aspects, there are serious criticisms that make a stay there extremely unpleasant.Above all, the prices are simply incomprehensible. You generally pay more for a mountain hut in the Alps, but here it quickly becomes outrageous. What is particularly irritating is the fact that, despite the high prices, card payments are not possible. In a world where cashless payments have long been standard, this restriction simply seems outdated and impractical. Many guests who don't have enough cash with them face a real problem - especially since the nearest opportunity to withdraw money is far away.The price-performance ratio also leaves a lot to be desired. For what you get, the prices are not justified. Anyone who comes here will quickly feel ripped off. Combined with the lack of an option to conveniently pay by card, this leaves a very negative impression. It's a shame, because the hut itself had the potential to be a real highlight of the region - but the questionable pricing policy and old-fashioned payment methods spoil the experience enormously.

The gorge has 60,000 visitors every year, and in 2024 it is simply incomprehensible and outrageous that neither the entrance fee nor the hut can be paid for with a card. That's an absurdity these days!

We came on a rainy day to stop at the hut and fortify ourselves with coffee, cake and Kaiserschmarrn. In the basement we were able to hang up our wet jackets in the drying room and put down our wet backpacks. We noticed this very positively.The service was quick and the warm drinks and the order came very quickly. Frankly too fast - in 1-2 minutes; Which is why we were very skeptical about the quality of the drinks and food. The coffee, cappuccino and espresso were from a cheap fully automatic machine. You can tell because there was no crema on the espresso and the milk foam on the cappuccino looked like bath foam. The apple strudel and the Kaiserschmarrn were not fresh, just warmed up again and therefore dry and solid and the poppy seed streusel was still fridge cold and very small.The prices are way too overpriced for the quality of the food and drinks. €16.90 for the Kaiserschmarrn, €7.90 for the apple strudel and €5.90 for a small piece of cake. The warm drinks were 5-7€. The prices are not unusual for huts, especially at this altitude, but the quality also has to be right.We wouldn't come back to eat and drink again.

The hut is really well equipped and the camp is really pleasant, but unfortunately it's so overcrowded that it's not really fun to visit. And it's expensive too. Very expensive.

The location is unique, the staff is friendly, food and drinks arrive quickly. The fact that it still can't get more than 2 stars is due to two important criticisms: The quality of the food lags significantly behind other similarly equipped huts. The cheese dumpling soup had a weak taste, the noodle soup with sausages had very little flavor.And then there are the prices. I always understand the effort that has to be made in such huts - it costs more than in the valley. But non-alcoholic drinks over 6 euros, a piece of cake with cream for 7.50 euros and (apart from the soups) hardly any dishes under 15 euros are hefty and overall the most expensive thing we have discovered in huts so far. Here too: I would accept it, but the quality just isn't there.

I don't need to report much on the situation. This is optimal.We hiked through the Höllentalklamm with our final destination: Höllentalangerhütte.Once you get to the hut everything goes very quickly. As soon as you sit down, the drinks are more or less brought out. The same goes for food, practically the minute you order it's already at the table.Some people certainly don't think that's a bad thing, but overall you can't relax and you feel like you have to hurry up. There is no deceleration.All of this wouldn't have been so bad if the food had at least been better, snack board with seemingly tasteless discount sausage and cheese for €18.80. Very disappointing! Unfortunately, my wife's cheese spaetzle was also nothing... ready-made spaetzle from the bag for €18.10, no salad included... then a coffee for €4.2 where I had to order extra milk. Oh yes, a beer costs an impressive €6.90!! When I look at the price/performance ratio, I find it very disappointing!Here the hikers are cashed in with minimal effort, you know that most of them only come once a year or even less often.It's a shame they don't try harder...

It's getting more and more catastrophic every year!The rooms are okay, but the food is a disaster and the prices are an absolute disgrace.We paid 16.90 euros for a tiny Kaiserschmarren. It also tasted very bad and was probably warmed up briefly in the microwave.The staff is very unfriendly and we felt absolutely unwelcome.Unfortunately, this hut cannot be avoided due to its location, otherwise we wouldn't go here again.
